I wonder how much travel will be involved in this.

Yeah we go to the Cowboys than travel to the Seahawks.
Right...we will play the Cowboys on Sunday night and then have to travel to Seattle for the Thursday game.
Then the following week we will have some time to prepare for the Saints or Packers when they are coming off their bye weeks.

Thursday night out in SF
after playing Sunday night vs Eagles . . . no doubt the NFL will want to put the Giants behind the 8 ball again considering another SB run. If they win a SB It’s guaranteed they do everything they can to screw the Giants.

Said that all teams will have a primetime date. Thursday night games starting and ending, weeks 2-15. I’m guessing that the Giants will get two Monday and Sunday night games apeice, at the very least.
All I care about is that first Thursday night game.

HA...I was so calm before 42 because as long as they played a good game I felt like I would be satisfied.
Although, when one of my best friends asked me if I thought the Giants even had a chance at winning that game I answered “Not just a chance – they WILL win”. I figured that a Giants win would be so much better of a sports story for history than the Patriots going undefeated. America and sports fans everywhere love an underdog and I thought the whole “David vs Goliath” angle would propel them to victory.

I'm a little less stressed this go around. Like we're playing with the House's money.
I kinda thought they were done with about 5:00 minutes to go in that 1st DAL game, and it’s all been gravy since then.

I was not nervous last time around not at all. I mean when it kicked off but I guess I was always expecting the other shoe to drop. When Brady led them down to go up 14-10 I said O well the Great Brady was bound to win a SB with a late TD drive and not a FG drive. Then I saw 2:30 left to play and said, Eli will make this interesting and will make NE sweat out their perfect season. Look what happend.
This year I’m nervous, angry, and anxious. I mean when I big Picture it I relax becasue lets be real the G-Men were mediorce until the last two weeks and with the injuries and rebuilding nature I mean what a freaking season almost more unbelievable than 07. I’m just happy we stomped out the Jets and won the division but once we beat GB, I just felt like the GMEN should win the whole thing and I’ve been more nervous than excited this year.

To me, I look at the Giants perceived “confidence” this week as being a bit arrogant. And, in my opinion, it starts with the head coach. Don’t get me wrong, Tom Coughlin is a great guy, smart coach and I certainly wouldn’t call him arrogant – but his team’s “confidence” isn’t the type that you want heading into the Super Bowl considering the potential pit-fall a loss could cause./blockquote>

so I would expect a few roughing penalties tomorrow. The NFL coverage and NYC coverage this week has been a joke. They have Brady and Bellicheck as sympathtic figures while the Giants are this big bad team. Give me a break the Giants are 9-7 and limped through an injury plagued rebuilding year and got it together to make a SB run. The Pats were the preseason favorites and had their typicall season and are in their FIFTH SB in 10 years! HOw do you make them the sympathtic figures?

They’d better do a piece on TC during their 30 hours of pre-game about what a great man he is. I’m serious. He’s a great coach, but an even better person. He walks the walk, which is why he has the respect of the entire team. They’ll probably be too busy doing a piece on Gisselle though.
I’ve been predicting a close game all week. Well, I just changed my mind. JoeWillie ddi it, so it’s considered cool now, right? I think Gilbride has Eli coming out firing and he finds his three headed monster of a receiving corp. early and often. Then Bradshaw and Jacobs start popping the runs off with NE in a panic defensively. NASCAR gets going in the second half with a big lead and pummels Brady. JPP finally snaps something on Tom and he gets carted off. Cue the cameraman to pan to all the sad faces on the Patriot faithful.This board lights up like a Christmas tree with incoherent but always funny banter. I can’t wait!!!!

What I would like to see the Giant Defense do
Is come out every play with their game face on. Make the tackle, get up and walk back to the huddle while eyeballing the NE O every single play. I mean every defender staring down the oppossing player. Minimal celebration regardless of the play. Make it look like you expect to get a sack, loss of yardage tackle or a ball batted down every time. Intimidate with your body language. I think it could be tremendously effective.

My family doesn’t watch football. My in-laws are crazy Patriots fans. I only know a handful of Giants fans, and none of them are particularly close friends, or fanatics.
I’m so glad I’ve had this outlet for my addiction/obsession over the past few years. I’m grateful for Ed doing such an incredible job. And mostly, I’m really happy to have such a collection of personalities who share my mania to enjoy all of this with.

Everyone says they can't see Brady having two bad games in a row
But here are the stat lines from the 2007 playoffs against San Diego in the AFC Championship game and against the Giants in the Super Bowl.
Brady goes 22/33 for 209 with a 66.7 completion percentage 2TDs and 3 INTs. 6.3 yards/attempt getting sacked twice against San Diego. I would say this was a pretty bad game. The team won, good for them.
Brady goes 29/48 for 266 yards and a 60.4 completion percentage throwing for 1 TD and no interceptions. That is 5.5 yards/attempt while getting sacked 5 times against the Giants in the Super Bowl, this was better, but not good enough to win.
I’ll take the same outcome as well. If we can hold Brady to this stat line we win…period. No one was saying Brady played a bad game, but it was definitely subpar compared to his usual standards. So THERE is two bad games in a row, in the playoffs, when it mattered, leading to a loss in the Super Bowl.

Brady has struggeld in the playoffs since 2007
and for one big reason. His teams are not as good as the 01-04 teams. Those teams did not rely on him being great and being a prolific passer. They were loaded on D those teams, about 3 to 5 boarderline HOFers on those D’s with BB running the show. The teams since 07 have not been as well rounded and he’s struggeld becuase NFL history has shown that one man cannot carry an entire team. Not even his fault. I have more respect for the guy now becasue he’s proven to me that he can carry a team to great seasons, ala Peyton Manning, John Elway, and Dan Marino. All of his playoff struggels have come against more balanced teams.

I work the Liberty Bowl game every year and they always bring a few St Jude’s kids out on the field for the half time show. Being down there on the field with them, and seeing their little bald heads under a too big ball cap just makes me tear up every damn time. I’m such a softie.

This year people think they can win so anything that resembles confidence is twisted into cockieness and it’s actually being generated by the NY media which Woody Johnson has some control over, NY Daily NEws and 1050 ESPN so a lot of it is an attempt to put the Giants in the same light as the Jets. Lets examine the comments.
TC was not comparing BRady to the Giants players overall, he was comparing Brady telling NE fans at a pep ralley that we’ll have a bigger party next week to Canty telling Giant fans exepct a great game and a Parade on Tuesday. TC’s comment was Canty’s statement was not any different than what Tom Brady said. Which is true, they both make statements to fans about bringing home a SB. If parade is more offensive than Party then I guess it is trash talking

If you read the entire transcript JPP says several times Tom Brady is a great QB and if you give him time he’ll pick you appart so we have to pressure him it’s on us (the DLine) to pressure him. He then sites the game earlier this year that they are watching the film to prepare in which Brady was off for about 3 quarters throwing 2 picks and did look to fall one time when nobody pressured him. And he continued saying we as a D-Line did not do a good job that day and we were still able to affect him. But what the NY media ran with was JPP says Brady is not God. Give me a break his full quote states that Brady is a great QB not only that JPP is a young not very media savy kid thats played football for all of 5 years I mean he did not know what the pro bowl was when he found out he made it. Its not like he’s some guy looking to make trouble like Rex Ryan so there was no intent on his part bad mouth Brady. Hell he’s not even a football fan he might not even know that much about Tom Brady so to him he is just another QB.
The Cruz/Manningham comments about Edelman coveirng them. Well first they’ve been asked 1000 times so give them a break. Second before the NFC championship game Cruz said he liked his matchup in the slot vs Carlos Rodgers, a Pro Bowl Corner, all week. He said Carlos was talking durring the last game and I know I’ll be able to make plays vs him this week if its man coverage. That gets nothing but becasue Edelman is a WR its trash talk? Huh? Manningham during media said, my point about Edelman is DB is not his natrule position so he does not get to work at it that much and its hard to pick up positions in the NFL. Nobdoy even mentions that was his follow up its, Manninghams trash talking. If you listen to Manningham talk he’s not a bright bulb either so I’m sure the media bated him into that one.
Based on that what real trash talking has gone on? The fact that the Giants are being cocky is a made up media story to make the Pats the sympathetic figures going into this game. Much more was said back in 07 by the Giants and even Brady in retort to the 17 point comment. The only thing about the Giants is they are a little more candid than the Pats in their comments and not as generic. People are making the Giants out to be the Cowboys of the 90s or the 85 Bears with their cockiness, its just not true hell the 2007 Giants were a lot more cocky than this group. Guys like Strahan, Plaxico, and Antinio Pierce did not shut the eff up.
Belichicks Parade speach did work so well either. THe Pats slept walked through that SB they should of blown the Eagles off the field considering how they manhandeled tougher Colt and Steeler teams on their way to that SB. I mean Brady fumbeled as the Pats weregoing in for a score to put them up by two scores the defense needed a few bad throws by McNabb to prevent scores. TO worked over your secondary all day and if McNabb was able to handel the pressure and run a two minute drill they might of won. I mean it was 24-21 not 46-10. And I was rooting HARD for the Pats that day so its not like I’m taking it from the Eagle point of view.
By now means am I trying to trash talk but this stuff is so overblown its asine and all of it amounts to nothing. The Pats are not going to win the SB becasue of BB’s pre-game talk or becasue of some tame comments that were taken out of context or blown out of poportion to invent a villian vs good guy scenerio. They’ll win becasue of BB’s schemes and Brady’s general greatness. I mean Tom Coughlin could easily come up with a pre-game speach in which he talks about how the National Media has been portraying the Giants as bad guy trash talkers all week while Brady gets a pass for making similar comments becasue of who he is and that the Pats will win this game becasue they will get their revenage and all of that crap. It all means nothing when the ball is kicked off if I’m a Pats fan I’d more optomistic about Gronk playing than the manufactured media stories motivating the team.

he was burning the torch hard for the Giants are talking too much trash angle. it really gets ridiculous, but to be fair to media outlets, they had to fill 14 days, with at least 14-18 hours of radio, tv, and newspaper/online coverage with something. how many times did they ask Gronk about his ankle? how many endless hours over on EEI were dedicated to talk of a man’s ankle? they’ve at this point exhausted all angles of this game, dissected it, stitched it up, and redissected it again. how long can you talk about stopping our D-line, or who’ll win the mismatch of Edelman vs. input any receiver here? again, not defending the talking heads, but at this point they’ve run out of shit to speculate about.

You know I hate to say it
but that arrogant POS Francecer is probabbly the most rational talk guy in NYC. He’s irrational with his Jet hatred (which is funny though) which is more of his ego in that Jet people refuse to go on his show hence he rips them like he did with Tiki, Strahan, and Shockey back in the day. But his overall show just sticks to x’s and o’s and not idiotic type stuff.
Michael Kay is a company man and a schill
so he’s taken orders form the Jet hiearchy to portray the Giants in a bad light so if they lose the Giants can be ripped like the Jets for being too chatty. It’s all manufactured. I noticed it during the playoffs when some guys like Kay or other media people would say why can’t Rex gurantee a SB but JPP can gurantee a win. It’s something they state controlled media has been looking to do to put the Giants in a bad light.
The differeance between the Jets and Giants is the Jets trash talk is manufactured and encouraged by the owner to grab headlines and sell the product of the Jets. The Giants trash talk (if thats what you want to call it) is a few talkative players being candid when aswereing quesitons. It’s not a ploy encouraged by the owner and spearheaded by the freaking head coach to sell PSLs and to grab media attention.
Lets be real the Giants have been a little chippy since the Fassel days and its continued a bit under TC. Hell it was way worse when we had Strahan, AP, Shockey. Now we Rolle. The story is nothing new its just something that Woody wants becasue of how poorly the Jets season backfired and how foollish they look. The problem with the Jets is the coach does most of the talking. Thats a lot different than a few chippy players
throw Jacobs in that mix too of chippy players
nothing really wrong with that. Every team has a few that talk a lot and being in NY, the media really jumps on any quote from any player.

We did not have an amazing game plan
we rushed four maybe a baker at times and covered deep. NE could not block it. Our O was better than their D in the clutch. Our Talent was better that day.

to be fair, my dreams make no sense
last night I had a dream that the weird bull-monster from Ghostbusters was running around NYC, impregnating tigers and making strange hyprid creatures.

because you and TAWD had entirely different dreams with almost the same score. (35-20? and 34-20).
I had a dream two or three years ago that we won the Superbowl 33-23 in a blue walled stadium against some team and I was there in the crowd.
We’re in Indianapolis, have tickets, the walls in Lucas Oil are blue.

For some reason—and Belichick has a reason for everything—he’s loosened up this Super Bowl week with a season’s worth of smiles, jokes and fashionable attire.
If noone realizes yet, Brady is so stressed out over this game. Giselle saw it & BB sees it. Both are trying to relieve some of that pressure.

Yea I actually like Belichick a lot
he was a GREAT Giant and a big reason for our success in the 80’s. He’s never forgot where he came from.
I think Brady’s been under a lot of stress since 07. Thats when the Pats decided to make him the center of what they do, ala Peyton Manning, John Elway early years, and Dan Marino so the success of the team is rely depedent upon what he does. He can’t just have a good game and pull it out late he usually has to be great all day for them to win. Thats tough and a lot of pressure on one man.

It was easy to love the lunchpail Pats. In fact their upset of the greatest show on turf was akin to our XL2 win. (only less awesome)
On the other hand, I wonder if Bill Belichick is just so goddamn far ahead of the curve that he saw the QB era coming into bloom and revamped his team to have a decent middling D, and score a zillion points through the air?

As much as BB loved being here, i doubt he ever somes back. he’s earned the right to retire as a patriot & when he does, he’ll be done.
but i was actually talking about Tom Brady’s stress level. He’s got the pressure of the world on him because he knows he’s gotta be unbelievable great. If the games close & Eli has the ball last, we will score & win. I think Brady wants to be so good in this game, & so far ahead in points that a 2-minute drive wont be an issue.
