New York Giants Super Bowl Quiz
I made some of these a couple of years ago and I may try to post one of these a week. They are just for fun, but give me some feedback like too easy, too hard, too lame, etc.
This link will bring you to the quiz. The goal is to answer what teams the Giants lost to during their Super Bowl winning years. You can skip around, but each answer will be in order from earlier in the year to later in the year so be sure you are in the right order with your answers.

We lost early game to Dallas in 1986 season.
Was a Monday night game. Had to endure the grrrrrrr Cowboys fans wince i am from Dallas and lived there those days.
This is not the 2007 team.
2011 NYG will have their own legacy.
The story had a nice ending though. :-)

That 1986 team was incredible. That defense was better than what we had in 2011 and even 2007.
We had players like LT, Banks, Carson, Reasons etc. Secondary was shut down. Offense was pretty decent. STs were great. Coaching was great. Bill Parcells was head coach. Belechek was DC. We had people like Crennel etc on coaching staff. (TC was not on that team and joined after that as WRs coach). Teams literally feared us.Defense was called Big Blue Wrecking Crew.
Team went 14-2. Had home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Beat San Francisco 49ers 49-3 and then shut out Wash. Redskins 17-0 in the NFC Championship game. This was the only superbowl that the Giants have ever been favored to win and beat Broncos 39-20. Final score is misleading since we really beat Elway led Broncos real bad. Our QB Simms set a superbowl record and was named the game’s MVP after completing 22 of 25 (88%) of his passes—a Super Bowl record which still stands. By the way two of those incompletions were dropped passes.
This is the season that Giants introduced into the NFL the Gatorade shower of the coach after a voctorious game. In the first playoff game Giants had total control of the game and defeated Joe Montana led 49ers so bad that the ST’s even carried out a fake punt/FG into a TD without telling the coach they were going to do that. Giants blew out the NFC teams with the combined score of 66-3. This was a phenomenal team. It was a powerhouse.

Damn BB....
Thanks so much for that little summary. I’m old enough to remember that powerhouse, and that is exactly what it was.
How about that coaching staff? Incredible minds were running the Giants back then. And great call on that fake punt without telling the coaches. I haven’t heard anyone mention that in MANY years.
Nobody was beating that team that year.

I didn't know about the ST not telling the coaches.

Yes that was a pleasant surprise to Parcells and he smiled when he saw that happen.
This is not the 2007 team.

That was awesome!
It took me about a minute before I realized you had to do them in order and that screwed me up. I thought they were hiding the right answers until the end because I started with 2011 and I knew I was getting them all right!
I missed both answers in 1986 and then ran out of time before I could get in the second Dallas lose in 2007. 15 outta 18, not too shabby!

I enjoy these quizzes
But this was a hard one. I tend to forget the losses and rejoice the wins! lol
Absolutely!!!

Just a few...
- Randomly select certain years that players have worn a certain #. Possibly having 5 players/year with maybe up to 5 different years/columns.
- Unscramble player names.
- What college players went to, when they were drafted.
All of this being at the discretion of the poster!
Good ones...I'll definitely use them

Other ideas
Giants retired numbers, Giants statistical record holders (Rushing, passing, etc.), All of the giants coaches (which would have their wins in the third category), Famous HCs that were assistants for the Giants…
Geez there’s tons you can do. Glad there’s someone making Giant themed sporcle quizzes.

i started with the 1st loss of the 1986 season which was to the Cowboys.
This is not the 2007 team.
2011 NYG will have their own legacy.
Brilliant idea
Kind of frustrating that the losses need to be in order, but kind of necessary or one would just list all the teams.
The only one that was a complete clueless guess was the second loss in ’86. The seahawks? Really?

I can type quite a few words per minute on any standard keyboard. But on this laptop, these are the only keys with keypads… `,1,2,3 and 7!
My 3 year old daughter has ripped the rest off. Even though i know the keyboard, it’s not the same when your in a hurry! lol
