PrintThis has emerged as quite possibly my favorite story of Super Bowl week. Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy has picked the New York Giants to defeat the New England Patriots in the 2012 Super Bowl. Even though he admitted he didn't want to.
"I'm going to be honest," McCoy said, smiling a wan smile. "I really want the Patriots to win. But I feel like the Giants are probably going to win."
You remember McCoy trashing Osi Umenyiora before the season started? The Eagles star running back is now forced to give the Giants credit, although it obviously isn't easy.
"It's hard, because you feel like you're better than they are," McCoy said. "But that's just words. They're actually doing it. ...
"They got really hot," McCoy said of the Giants. "Just jelled at the right time. They're hot. The way they're playing, defensively and offensively, just great. Their offense reminds me of ours -- it seems like, at any given moment, they could go the distance. And [Eli] Manning's playing like his brother right now."

Watched the NFL network last night and everyone saying how good the Giants are
Love the hype but I hope they show up and get the job done
I'm usally pessimistic and would be all over this BUT
in 07 did’nt Plaxico gurantee a victory with the score, and the whole black suites on the plane for the Pats funeral, reminicent of the Miami Hurricanes in 1986 wearing army fatigues before the Fiesta Bowl vs Penn State. I’d say those action were a hell of a lot worse than Victor Cruz being excited to face Julian Eddelman or Canty’s comments that were similar to Brady’s. Hell Cruz said he was excited to face Carlos Rodgers in the NFC championship and how that end up?
I don’t like it becasue it gives every Giant hater (the entire FAN staff & Mad Dog Russo) reason to say the GIants are overconfident and will lose, so I’d perfer they kept their mouths shut but man they were a hell of a lot more cocky back in 07 I guess becasue nobody thought they were going to win they did not get taken seriously but now that they have a shot everything they say is being magnified.
