Linval Joseph
Just want to give some props to my man Linval Joseph. The dude is a beast and an unheralded star of the D-Line that came up HUGE in the playoffs for us. The guy learned on the job this year, no doubt, but I can honestly say that the results of this every-inch-mattered, one-play-changes-everything Super Bowl VICTORY (!!) might have been different if it wasn't for the big man, #97 in the middle. The guy weighs 320+ pounds but was instrumental in pressuring the QB all game long. Even more impressive is the fact that it was against a perennial pro-bowler all-pro G in Brian Waters.

It's almost impossible to win it all without talented DTs in the middle, and Joseph was huge for us this year. Barry Cofield was great for us but Joseph has stepped in and stepped up when it counted the most. Props!!

he is a beast, every team needs a big guy like that in the middle to overpower the guards and collapse the pocket
Eli Manning is The Boston Strangler
The 2011 New York Giants = The best 9-7 team of all time

Absolutely
Our interior D line gets overshadowed by the DEs but they were steller.
He had a much better game then Mr Wilfork!
Anvil Canty and perhaps Austin will be a formidable interior for a while.
not just the superbowl
Anvil was great against the 49ers as well.
I think we’ve just seen the tip of the iceberg with this kid. He’s one guy I look forward to watching grow into his skill set next year.
You down wit JPP?
I got 99 problems but a Vick ain't one!
Young and strong guy if he stays healthy
he is going be good for the next 5 years. I’m really interested to this Austin kid play, if can pick it up like Anvil did we got some good DT for years to come.
Tommy Boy twice in 4 years you still can't score more than 17 points. I guess when you dont have an illegal DVD of our defense it makes it much harder now don't it?

Jerry Reese comes through again
He has done an amazing job drafting defensive linemen. Anvil and JPP come up big this (their sophmore) year and i’m hoping Marvin Austin comes back strong next year. He has done a great job restocking the line with good young players.
My buddy a Jet fan told me about Anvil
Right b4 the draft he wanted the Jets to pick him. he was pissed LOL…

I am a big Linval Joseph fan
I always thought he’d be able to replace Cofield. We didn’t have an MLB to clean things up in run defense but Joseph had a very good first season as a starter.
Team Ghost: Manningham, Sintim, Beckum, Barden, JPP, Anvil, Ross
The Atlanta game this guy was a beast at stopping the run.
"They got a big-mouthed coach, a big mouth and a big-bellied coach that talks too much and now it's finally time to shut up- Brandon Jacobs
He did good throughout the post season
This is not the 2007 team.
2011 NYG will have their own legacy.
Moniker
I refer to him as ‘Landfill’ referencing ‘Beer Fest.’ Played great all year and continues to get better.
There's a long list of guys we don't win the Supe without.
Here’s hoping Austin healthy next year adds another “beast” to the DL mix.
as it was bought up above
this is only the sophomore year for anvil and jpp. that means lord willing, we’ll have those 2/5’s of the line together for the next 8-10 years. throw into the mix the monster named Austin, and we may be scary good, even better than we have been in the past, especially in the interior. i’m thinking Williams wall good.
Can’t wait.
Yes, I am a Giants fan. Now that we got that out of the way....
IMPEACH DOLAN!!!!
I bELIeve in ELI!!!! - Primetime -
The Big Boy Cometh....Team Jacobs
Marines say Oorah; BBVer's say SUAMBP! say it with me - Suuaahmbp!!!!
One things that impresses me about Linval is the effort
For such a hulk of a man, he always seems to be trying to run down plays if they get by him, and sometimes if it turns into a big mess, he is able to clean up and tackle the RB. Reminds me of Coefield in a lot of ways actually.
He played well
I don’t think our run defense would’ve been as solid in the playoffs without him.
