Now that this glorious season is ova...
I have been thinking about this for a couple years actually, and most recently
after our beloved G-Men made it to the SuperBlow with a 9-7 record.
If you folks recall, so did Kurt's Cardinals, they lost we didn't!
My thought process has been that the NFL draft selection ORDER should be changed.
After you eliminate the twenty teams who did not make the playoffs (1-20) in draft order,
why should teams like the Giants or the Cardinals be "penalized" for making the SB with
a 9-7 record? I feel that if you take the 12 teams remaining in the playoffs, you then re-seed them
for draft selection order ONLY! If you take this year as an example, Green Bay would be
selecting No.32....This isn't the MLB playoffs or the NBA, not 4 out of 7, it's a one game
crapshoot. Therefore it is more like March Madness, win and move on, lose see 'ya!
I mean you play 16 games to determine your right to be in the "tournament" as Parcells
would say (if the Commish has his way, soon to be 18 games, but I digress).....

It's an arbitrary rule
Any order is somewhat arbitrary. Moving down the draft relative to playoff success seems reasonable. They don’t call em the best 9-7 team
They call em World Champion NY Giants
Eli is our King!
I hear you
With that said, I think the regular season should hold more value regarding the draft order.
If you noticed, I mentioned the Cards as well.

They did it your way for years
But it’s better than when they said, if you win the Super Bowl you draft last. So a 9-7 team wins the Super Bowl 32, but if they lost the conf champ then 21.
Eli is our King!
saying green bay should pick 32nd is saying they were the best team
when in fact they were the 5th best team. I agree with the draft order.
You PLAY to WIN the GAME.
Dear Tebow, please let the Giants beat the Patriots.
Actually
what it is saying IS, they had the best regular season record, which was the point of
this particular fanpost, right?

The way the lineup is because going into the following season the champ is regarded as the number one team on field. So it picks last.
This is not the 2007 team.
2011 NYG will have their own legacy.
which is absolutely correct and right.

whaaa?
I have a degree in English and worked for years as a professional editor.
The main idea in this thought is that the draft order should be changed.
I believe that the draft order is correct — the Giants should pick 32nd because they were the best team in the NFL. Therefore, I disagree with the main idea.
I think we need to get together and get all Ricky Williams to have any idea what the disagreement is beyond that…
You PLAY to WIN the GAME.

the last time we picked 32nd
we got Kenny Phillips. I’ll take that pick every time

Talk is Cheap! Play the Game!
You can't spell Elite without ELI.
It was 31st pick. There was no 32nd pick since NFL took away 1st round pick of the Patriots. So there were only 31 picks in the 1st round.
This is not the 2007 team.
2011 NYG will have their own legacy.
Good memory.
Keep it as it is, IMO.
