Ask A Packer Fan: Divisional Round Edition

Hey guys, I'm arodgb from APC, and I'll take any questions you might have about next week's matchup! Before we go into that, though, I'd like to congratulate you on beating the Falcons. Although the win didn't seem as impressive to me at first, I only watched the first half, and after seeing some highlights of the second half, I'm impressed. Holding any team to 2 [0] points is an accomplishment as well.

Anyways, the general consensus over at APC seems to be that you guys have the best shot at upsetting us of all the teams left in the NFC. Better than the Saints, mostly for the reasons that the Giants have a superior defense, and that makes up for a slightly less explosive offense. Also, the Giants play outdoors, and the Saints struggle outdoors much more than they do inside of their comfy dome. Make no mistake, while you may see some comments that don't take the Giants seriously, we all know that the Giants are one of the toughest teams to stop when they're in synch.

Key matchups? Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz vs Tramon Williams and Charles Woodson is #1 for me. #2 is JPP, Tuck, and the rest of your DL vs our OL. We will be starting a OL group that hasn't played together since week 5, for what it's worth.

If you don't mind, please drop a few REC's so this stays near the top for the week. Thanks.

Please try to keep trash talking in the thread to a minimum. Minimum.

Good luck, and let's hope for a fun, injury free game.

This is an important question.

Haha sorry

Can you explain the question? I heard JPP say that he guaranteed a win; All I can say is that Antrel Rolle guaranteed a win last year in week 16 before our Super Bowl run, and we won. But as a player, I respect him a ton; He absolutely wrecked us in week 13. He had 3 sacks, I believe.

Nicks, no question

Believe me, I’m scared of Cruz, but Nicks has the whole package, and I don’t know how we’re gonna cover him. Tramon has locked down receivers before, but he’s in a bit of a slump right now, and him shutting down Nicks will be a huge key to the Packers gameplan.

But…
1. Tramon is a better cover corner than Woodson [Woodson is much better overall, but Tramon has better cover skills]

Yea

Most people outside of GB don’t know that, because Wood gets all the stats, but Tramon is probably better at covering. Woodson is by far a more complete corner though, he’s a good pass rusher, one of the two or three best tackling corners in the NFL, and covers very well. He also forces turnovers very frequently. If there’s one player on our defense to watch, it’s Woodson.

It was also an uncalled defensive hold

Nicks didn’t make a one handed catch for the style points alone. Hopefully we’ll have a more evenly called game on sunday. Other than that, I have rediculous respect for Woodson, one of the best defensive players of my generation.

Yea

I’ve heard the term that Championship Teams get more calls, and that seems evident with the Packers this year; We certainly seem to get more calls than other teams. Woodson sometimes gets away with a lotta stuff as well, but again, I think that’s partially due to reputation. I’m sure they would’ve thrown a flag if he hadn’t caught the pass.

It was frustrating to watch

I saw alot of Packers fans saying they were the ones who should have been complaining about bad officiating, and I don’t know if any of them realized the Packers weren’t called for a single penalty the last 42 minutes of that game. Mighty impressive playing such perfect football. In all seriousness though, I hope the refs are just able to control the game and make the right calls either way. Watching the Broncos/Steelers, a game I have almost zero rooting interest in, and I was getting frustrated at the one-sidedness of the officiating. Just keep it fair, and then the better team will truly win on Sunday.

Eh

I didn’t think the officiating was as bad as most people thought it was, but then again, my team won. It really just comes down to who wins the game. I can say this, though, the Packers are a MUCH more disciplined team than they were in the past. That probably leads to them getting less penalties. But yeah, I can understand you guys being upset at the officials.

Not really

it’s a factor in determining which team wins, and a factor that is increasingly incompetent. Even games I have no interest in are becoming frustrating to watch. Maybe it was for the better because it made for a thrilling finish, but the Steelers should never have been in that game. How they blow the whistle so fast on that backwards pass was beyond me. Especially from the ref who wasn’t in position to see where the ball actually traveled! But watching a game where one team is given opportunites and advantages on a more consistent basis than the other team is frustrating, and it most certainly impacts the outcome of games.

According to the rules

that .02 seconds he held the ball still counted as a catch. But the logic gap of having that be a catch and the Calvin Johnson play not be a catch is so mind-boggling wide. I think the NFL is too stubborn to change a controversial rule sometimes, like with the Tuck Rule.

Gather 80 10-year-old boys together and have them watch videos and then define a catch. Write that in the rule book and be done with it.

I don't mind that Jennings catch being called the way it was

It was possessed, and then it was knocked out. Immediately when he possessed it, it’s a TD, so it doesn’t matter what happens after.

The “Calvin Johnson rule”, however, goes completely counter to that. You can possess the ball, but there’s a distinction made for going to the ground & completing the process of the catch. As soon as it’s possessed, it should be a TD, it doesn’t matter if he sets it down after that.

I wouldn’t expect you to “mind” the Jennings catch, it was a turning point in the game ;). I would like to see a slo-mo video to see if both his feet were actually down for that split second the ball wasn’t moving. But yes, if they were than its a catch. The Johnson play however is counter-intuitive to the sport itself, much like the Tuck Rule says a qb can have the ball knocked out of his hands when his arm is not moving, and it somehow isn’t a fumble.

Victor Cruz is the 2011 Ahmad Bradshaw. He giveth, and he taketh away. Thankfully he is giving much more now.

the tuck rule is a disaster waiting to happen

one year, it will decide a super bowl, and that title will be tainted forever. The league is lucky that the Tuck Rule Game a) happened to the raiders, so not many people cared, and b) happened in the AFC champ game, not the superbowl.

at least in the sense that it was called in the Raiders-Patriots game. It sorta makes sense if the QB pump-fakes and the ball slips out; I can see an incomplete pass being the rule there, but when the ball is stripped out by a defender, it just is ridiculous.

really? IMO Shield > DRC and it's not even close.

and also, how can they fix their Secondary?

clearly their plan is very similar to ours…they want to run this “off” stuff and zone stuff to deal w/ the spread offenses.

and Nnamdi excels in press and Asante excels in off.

NOT to mention Asante may not even be there next year.

Maybe if their CB’s weren’t so different in their abilities. DRC and Asante Samuel are good in zone coverage, and struggle in man coverage. Nnamdi Asomugha is very good in man coverage, and struggles in zone coverage. I don’t think the chemistry will be there after one offseason given their strengths and weaknesses.

Wow that's startlingly honest

I expected a smaller focus, like the DL isn’t getting enough pressure, it’s exposing our secondary or whatever

After watching this weekend’s games, I think next week is going to be interesting. No one figured TJ Yates to beat Cincy, Tebow of course, Saints really played a great 1/3 of a game, and we basically shut out Falcons when people thought they’d drop 28-30 on us. So I expect your D to play better and the game to not exactly be a madden game.

Looking forward to the game, GB-NY in the playoffs, the way it ought to be every year.

It’s already a wrap… might as well not show up tomorrow.

GB Defense

It concerns all of us Packer fans. The Front 7 isn’t generating pressure like it did last year. The CB’s aren’t playing physical and are playing off. Nick Collins was injured for the year in Week 2, and our safeties have been getting burned deep all year. So yeah, our concern is our entire defense, not just one aspect of it. Hopefully Capers and the defense saw some film from our D last year and realized, “That’s how you play defense!” The only thing we are happy with from our defense, as mentioned above, is our ability to generate turnovers. However, if we don’t get the turnovers, it’s going to be a stressful game.

by nygmp42 on Jan 8, 2012 8:46 PM EST reply actions

Well

We’ve had injuried to LT, RG, and RT. LT Chad Clifton went out against Atlanta in week 5, and played 25 snaps against Detroit last week, in which he gave up a sack. Those were his first snaps for about 11 weeks. Our RG Josh Sitton went out the week before Thanksgiving, and came back a couple weeks ago. Our RT Brian Bulaga went out against KC in our loss, and will be starting his first game in a month against you guys on Sunday. So basically…
LT: Chad Clifton
LG: TJ Lang
C: Scott Wells
RG: Josh Sitton
RT: Brian Bulaga
Sitton is the best of the bunch, and Bulaga and Wells are almost Pro Bowl players as well.

Are you confident you guys can stop the run?

I don’t think The Giants can win a shoot-out type game like the 38-35 game was earlier this year. The Giants need to run the ball, eat clock, and keep Rodgers and all his weapons off the field (finley scares me the most) to have a chance. The Giants have run the ball much better lately. Can GB control The Giants ground game?

That’s the key I guess, If you have a coach/GM on the hot seat, they might give you something good. I’d never want my team to trade for a guy like Flynn, good QBs drop in the first round, and the new CBA doesn’t make the contract onerous any more.

It’s already a wrap… might as well not show up tomorrow.

Love how the Packers are owned by fans

I haven’t really rooted for them since they knocked the giants out last year, but if not for that they might be my second favorite team just for that. The Giants ownership is fantastic, the Maras and Tischs are considered some of the best in the NFL. Still, must be really nice knowing that you’re never going to get your feet held to the coals and threatened with losing your team if the taxpayers dont fork over hundreds of millions for a new stadium. Not that they could ever really replace lambeau anyway, the place is a shrine. Does anybody ever really talk about replacing it, though? it must be ancient.

Go Giants!

by rich316 on Jan 9, 2012 12:58 AM EST up reply actions

Lambeau is an amazing stadium, but part of that is due to the semi-constant renovation that ges on.

They won’t let it become a decrepit hole like Wrigley, which is only special at this point because of its “history.” But yeah, it is awesome to know that, when we see situations like the one in Minnesota right now, we will never have to deal with that, even though there is no logical reason why a team from a town of 100,000 people can survive.

That maintenance has been performed in the 6 years since that was a story

If anything, the new ownership has proven to be extraordinarily aware of these issues and has gone through much time and cash to ensure that Wrigley can safely contain 3 million people a year and not injure them via anything other than drunken stumbling down ramps.

Or falling face-first into the troughs. /shudder

It's been renovated several times

And the latest stock sale was to continue that renovation. There are certain parts of it (like the bleacher-style seating in the end zones) that feel very old, but no one wants that to change. Other than those, it’s been revamped to maintain its classic feel and offer amenities similar to other stadiums throughout the league.

You should come on over for a game sometime. I’ve truthfully never heard anyone say they’ve had a bad time at Lambeau.

I went to Lambeau for the first time last year

Unfortunately watched that pasting the Pack put on the Giants. It’s a phenomenal place to watch football. It just feels like football all around. Even though I was rocking my Manning jersey, almost everyone was cool to me, just some friendly ribbing. Only one guy was really being a jerk. I told him to STFU in my best New York accent, and he backed off.

I’m hoping for a much much better result this time out. Won’t make it up there I’m afraid, though. Playoff football there has to be amazing.

Not that I know of, but they wouldn't have any right to be anyways.

There was obviously no way that they were going to let random people have any impact on the way the team is run, and nobody would want that anyways. No one wants to see John Flopperbottom from Waukesha, WI trade Aaron Rodgers for DeAngelo Williams because “that dude was totally huge for my fantasy team 3 years ago, bro.”

As far as access to season tickets goes, I find it all the more endearing that you can’t just outbid everyone else on the list for first crack. To me, it shows that the Packers value every fan just as much as every fan values them. A few thousand extra dollars in the bank doesn’t make you deserving of tickets, spending decades bleeding Green and Gold does.

And besides, for those that bought stock, they got something just as valuable and just as tangible as tickets to a game. Every time they see that certificate on the wall, they realize that they have helped ensure the continuation of one of the best things in the sporting universe. Some little, old town in the middle of the middle of nowhere is the home of 9in my opinion) the greatest franchise in the history of any sport, ever, and they can ensure that their kids will grow up to be a part of the same phenomenon. At the risk of sounding cheesy, the Packers are as much a part of me as my family, religion, or anything else.

We understood going in that our donation to the team bought us nothing more than a fancy piece of paper with our name on it. We also understood that it gave us a chance to participate in a unique piece of American sports history. We’re proud to support our team and the underlying principles for which it has stood since the first time Curly Lambeau went around town holding out his hat – we can’t be moved and any cash the team generates above operating expenses gets donated to charity.

It’s a very Wisconsin concept, and for those of us who grew up there, it’s a point of pride more than anything else.

Theoretically, if Hakeem Nicks were to play like Plaxico Burress, and Tramon Williams play like Al Harris, and Corey Webster play like Corey Webster, would Rodgers conceivably retire after this game?

On a more serious note, I am interested in getting some insight on the Packers’ one and only loss this season. Was the Packs’ low offensive output merely an off-day, or did KC’s defensive game-plan provide a possible blueprint for stopping AR?

Eh

Another Packer fan might have to answer the KC question, as I only got to listen to it on the radio, and watch a shortened NFL Replay version, but it seemed to me that KC controlled the clock extremely well, Tamba Hali abused us in the pass rush, and our receivers inability to catch a ball really hurt us. Rodgers played really well, in fact, but his receivers had 6 total drops. It’s not quite a ‘blueprint’, but it’s a solid strategy.

MattFlynn4StartingQB

by arodgb on Jan 8, 2012 10:17 PM EST up reply actions

I'll expand on that

The Chiefs followed the Giants’ game plan on D: pressure Rodgers, but from both sides of the line. If you let AR scramble with an escape route, he’ll find a way to complete the pass or run the ball himself. The Chiefs bottled up Rodgers and didn’t allow him that relief valve often.

On the other side of the ball, they dinked, dunked, and occasionally passed to keep TOP in their favor.

Here’s the part that you don’t want to hear: Our starting OL is healthy again. The matchups that worked so well for you (and the Chiefs) are not there next week. Getting symmetric push won’t be nearly the cakewalk it was a few weeks back. One good seal on either side of the line means that our QB can buy time to find someone downfield.

If I’m Perry Fewell (and I thank my personal deity that I am not on a daily basis), I would try to sneak some LB pressure up the middle to occupy a blocker, allowing JPP and Osi a chance to keep Rodgers contained. That may also contain the ~25 touches I see for Grant/Kuhn in the game, which would be all to the good for the Giants.

They may be all healthy

have they been playing together at all? Do you expect five guys who haven’t played together in weeks to have great chemistry? I guess I’m asking if this five have had any run together, because five All-Stars can be thrown together and not be a great line if they don’t have a ton of experience playing together. We saw that ourselves this year, a better group of players struggling because of lack of cohesiveness.

Victor Cruz is the 2011 Ahmad Bradshaw. He giveth, and he taketh away. Thankfully he is giving much more now.

by bigbluethruandthru on Jan 9, 2012 12:46 AM EST up reply actions

That chemistry is key for run-blocking

But not for the pass-blocking which is the Pack’s bread and butter this year. With this offense, I’m not looking for push or pulling – I’m looking for seals. I think a healthy line of NFL-tested starters gives Rodgers that extra step, look, and opportunity to pass that was just not present a month ago. Not saying it’s gonna work every time – your D-Line is too strong and creative to make that claim – but I think we will fare slightly better on that front than the last time we saw each other.

by bigbluethruandthru on Jan 9, 2012 12:56 AM EST up reply actions

Yeah that is a big part of it.

My question would be, what team thinks they will be able to block these guys?

There is not a team left in the tournament that our Dline is not a mismatch for. There are 3 game wreckers at DE on the Giants and all three are healthy. The DT’s are one step below beastly.

Our DT’s were mauling the Falcons interior Oline last week. That was where the pressure started from and it caused the Falcons to become completely conservative. They were terrified to try and throw it down the field knowing their QB would get killed.

If we continue that along with the Kraken pressure from the outside? The Giants will be very difficult to beat.

The Seattle game was misleading

one INT was a bad throw, one hit the receiver in stride and he not only bobbled it, he reached out and flicked it up into the air so a defender could come by and pick it off. Third was a desperation heave with like 14 seconds left in the game. Only one of three was on Eli. Yeah I guess those could happen again, it’s not likely. The Redskins made two incredible catches on their picks. Seriously, go watch those highlights, they were incredible plays. I don’t remember the San Fran ones. About the extended amount of rest? Rodgers will be playing for the first time in three weeks. I personally am not the biggest fan of resting starters in the final week(s) unless absolutely necessary. woodson might be the best ever at forcing fumbles AND tackling

It’s easy to knock it out like Osi when you’re coming from a QB’s blind side, but what he does when he goes for a ball carrier is just unreal. I remember a tackle he made on Fitzgerald in that Cards/Pack playoff game in 2009 where he his fist literally went at the ball like it was magnetized, and then form-tackle wrapped him with his other arm. just ridiculous, really one of the best ever. hopefully the Giants can beat him.

How has the Packers draft class turned out so far?

I know Cobb has made some contributions, but correct me if I’m wrong, Sherrod has been a miss so far? I know some people on this site were banging his drum as a good LT candidate. Has the class looked like some future players?

Victor Cruz is the 2011 Ahmad Bradshaw. He giveth, and he taketh away. Thankfully he is giving much more now.

by bigbluethruandthru on Jan 9, 2012 12:49 AM EST reply actions

T Derek Sherrod (1st) was decent in limited action

Unfortunately, he broke his leg when we were getting lots of injuries along our OL, so he’s done for the year. They tried him at LG in the preseason, which may have hurt his development at T (along with the lockout). He, along with RB Alex Green (3rd) & DL Lawrence Guy (7th), are on IR. WR Randall Cobb (2nd) is really the only guy who has major contributions, but also has been the only one who has really been asked to. ILB DJ Smith (6th) stepped in for a few weeks when our ILBs got ravaged by injury, and was solid. TE DJ Williams (5th) & TE Ryan Taylor (7th) both have been getting time on special teams (because being the 4th & 5th TE doesn’t have a whole lot of receiving opportunities).

CB Davon House (4th) has been inactive for most games (due to being not polished enough, I assume, & they want to develop him more before throwing him into live action). G Caleb Schlauderaff (6th) was traded to the Jets on cutdown day, and the only true “bust” was OLB Ricky Elmore (6th) who was a flier on an athlete (failed conversion from 4-3 DE to 3-4 OLB) that didn’t work out. He was the only draftee no longer on the roster. Along with the draft class, we also have five UDFAs from this year on the 53 (kind of hard to believe) & another five on the PS. RB Brandon Saine has looked really good in limited action, a great 3rd down back who is good on screens.

I really liked

D.J. Williams, more so after hearing his back story. I thought he would be higher than 4th on the depth chart, although if you can bring yourself to read Greggggggg Easterbrook the Packers’ success is predicated on their having 5 TE’s on their roster.

He's moved up to 3rd, now, with the injury to Andrew Quarless.

He’s kinda the 2nd string “receiving TE” now, after Finley.

Tom Crabtree is more of a blocker who fools you into thinking he won’t catch it & gets open more easily.

Sherrod has been a disappointment, IMO

Sherrod has been a miss so far?

Depends on how negative you take ‘miss’ for. Wasn’t able to win a starting position, so has to be regarded as a disappointing 1st-round pick.

It did seem like he was coming around, though, until he broke his leg vs Chiefs. It’s a serious break, too (both bones in lower leg), so a long rehab, and no guarantee he will ever be back to full strength.

When you look at the matchups....

Besides QB and LB, where do you TRULY think you hold an advantage?? And in fairness, while Rodgers is the MVP, Eli being the 4th best QB in the NFL closes the QB gap some. Do you think that you will be able to shut down any of our WR’s?? Stop the running game?? Prevent our pass rush from getting to Rodgers?? Will Matthews be able to get enough pressure on his own to slow us down?? Where do you see this game being won??

by sexyscottish on Jan 9, 2012 1:54 AM EST reply actions

Biggest advantage is..

GB WR vs Giants Secondary…I am not sure of the status of Ross. But the last time these two teams played there was no Jennings. This moves the entire group into a more favorable matchup. This will be the most noticeable if Cobb, Jones and Driver have big days. There is not one paticular aspect of the giants offense that worries me in the matchup, rather it is the entire unit. Eli has been great this year, the WR have been good to great and the RB’s have come on strong. This is a well balanced offense that could cause some problems.

I think people look at the stats and automatically assume the Giants DBs stink

But our defensive backfield is really, really good. Very underrated. And one of the main reasons is because of completely blown coverages where guys are wide open, and uncovered. There really hasn’t been a ton plays where our DBs, specifically our corners, are just flat out getting beat.

I got banned from Jests Blog for saying Chad Henne has better stats than Mark Sanchez. And they think they're the big brothers in this town? LMAO try again little sisters!

As for Prince, he had no OTAs, no minicamps, a day of training camp before he broke his foot, no practices until halfway through the season, forced to play because of no depth in the secondary

and has done a good job with those things considered, sure, he was picked on by rex grossman but i will not go so far as to call him a bust, which he is not. When aaron ross went down with a concussion prince covered julio jones pretty well. But julio jones is not jordy nelson, so well see how prince does next week

Julio is no slouch

Prince reminds me so far of early-career Terrell Thomas. They are both really strong, athletic guys who are great tacklers but are liabilities in coverage. Prince always suprises me with how big and fast he is, he looks a lot bulkier than your typical CB. Hopefully prince can pick up his coverage game like TT did as he gains experience.

That doesn’t mean that there won’t be people complaining about the calls from the game. I guess what I’m saying is, don’t be a Patriots fan.

Seriously, that's bush league

There were some iffy calls, but the Giants’ D could have forced OT if they made a stop. They didn’t. Giants lose.

Keep your head up and make the plays. Stop worrying about the refs. (Of course, this doesn’t mean I won’t bitch about it during the game, mind you. :) )

yes and no...

I agree that you can’t complain too much about calls during gameplay that are nearly impossible to see and really quick… but I assume he’s referring to the Ballard TD… that one got reviewed and they still got it wrong. That call changes the entire complexion of the game.

That being said, I don’t think the refs call games differently based on stadium, its just unlucky that one specific, pretty large call went against us. I don’t think the whole year has been like that… but that was 1 bad call that was a large part (not the only factor) in why we lost that game.

The Jennings TD also...

Due to the Calvin Johnson incident against the Bears, the rule says you have to finish the catch all the way through. Jennings NEVER had full possession of the ball in the end zone and it got knocked out. TWO huge plays that went against us right there. Add in the no-calls on obvious holds when our DL was attacking Rodgers…..well, any need to go on??

I certainly don’t want the Giants or Packers to win the SB this year being a Cowboys fan. Giants rivals and Packers will tie our 5 SB’s.

Anyway my score prediction last week was 24-13 Giants. I picked the right amount of points for the Giants at least.

This week 34-26 Packers.

Ryan Picket, BJ Raji, and Mike Neal/CJ Wilson/Jarius Wynn are our front 3.

Vic So’oto and Frank Zombo are starting at OLB opposite Clay Matthews.
On our front 3, BJ has had a horrendous year [19 tackles] partially because:
a. Our best pass rushing lineman, Cullen Jenkins left last year.
b. He plays way too many snaps.
c. He gets double teamed a ton.
None of the players mentioned before get much pass rush at all. BJ Raji and Mike Neal have the most potential of the bunch, they’ve showed it in previous years, but not this year.

Maybe they’ll stick with Walden, I don’t know. I wish we had a definitive starter on the opposite side.

I can't stand APC because I think the writing and general level of conversation is remarkably poor...

… but if you were a Packer fan and you publicly demonstrated your stupidity this clearly and this repeatedly on that site, some of the regs over there would have long ago stepped in and said “hey, don’t think we’re all like this moron”. The fact that no Giants fans have done that here speaks volumes to me.

I suggest you look up the definition of irony. If you can’t figure out why, just know that the rest of us already have.

Allow?

APC has a very loose policy with banning. To give you an idea of what it’s like, delusional (the Lions fan in question) was banned from PoD during Packer week, but not from APC. Revenge4Favre, the troll who was a big Favre fan, wasn’t banned from the site until it was part of a site-wide ban, and if you think that was because he spoke glowingly of the Packers you’re way off.

by Wiedmann on Jan 10, 2012 3:28 PM EST up reply actions

I'm not blaming anybody. Perhaps trueblue was a bit too harsh.

I don’t mind the trolls and what not over at APC. My point (and again, its only a few people, not the majority) is that if you (meaning the few people) allow people to say stuff like that over there and chuckle at it…don’t be butthurt when you receive the same treatment here. If people here are getting offended, calling us immature and what not, just ignore them here instead of responding to them. Same treatment, no?

It’s different over here at BBV than at APC. We rarely get trolls, and when we do, we drop the banhammer really quickly. So people aren’t used to it. That’s why I apologized to you Packer fans like you and arodgb a few lines up. It ain’t right to attack anybody who disagrees or who is a different fan.

In what ways (if any) are the Packers different from the week 13 version.

I’ve heard some mention that you’re healthier on the offensive line. Do you feel like your team is playing at the same level (offensively or defensively) that they were then, or have you seen improvement (or regression) since then.

The thing is that it takes a few posts (after benefit of the doubt) to figure out a troll.

Once you leave the troll alone, along comes another person who reads it the first time (mostly the troll’s latest post) and responds and it becomes a bad cycle. That is why we do not allow that here.

I just think some of us are really fired up

I read through that other thread on APC, did not really know where that Lion fan was coming from. There was all of this talk about Midwesterners sticking together and the such. I am from the Midwest and those guys should remember their humble roots a bit. A lot of this, in my opinion, is defined by the magnitude of the game Sunday. The Packers and Giants have had some recent clashes and there are hard feelings on both sides. I was going to jump in over there with all of the midwest banter, but luckily the 24 hour waiting period has let me calm down a bit. You are right TAWD, internet trash talk and everyone needs to remember that is what it is. Some of it has been funny, some tragic, I just can’t wait for Sunday. I hope the Giants come to play as much as some of our guys from BBV.

Well I am not deleting any of that

Those that were warned, knock it the f*** off, that was beyond childish. Talk football if you are around here… if you wanna do that crap posting, go to Yahoo or some other outlet for such “creativity”.

Big Game Big Bri

Tempers are flaring and no one wants to back down. I LOVE IT!!!!

We could be in full off season mode and mapping out our drafts…so I’ll take this any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

I got banned from Jests Blog for saying Chad Henne has better stats than Mark Sanchez. And they think they're the big brothers in this town? LMAO try again little sisters!

nygmen123: Again, without Vick or Maclin, or Cromartie. Injuries don't seem to bother them. They just bring in guys to make plays
nygmen123: Stopped the Pats on the first series. Planted Brady twice. Guess what gang? This team isn't quitting. Or making excuses.
Simms-McC: Yeah -- I wish the Giants were more like the Eagles
nygmen123: In intensity and fight? Right now, so do I.

How scary would JPP be with the shredder face mask?

Plus I think the equiment guys should rig up a red led the moves back and forth across the face shield cylon style.

How is Aaron Rogers in cold weather?

I think everyone forgets that it wasn’t Aaron Rogers who was the QB back in ‘07. And last year you were on the road the entire playoffs. So I’m wondering, is he any good when the temp dips below freezing? I don’t remember how cold it was in the NFC Championship game last year, but correct me if I’m wrong: didn’t he pass for like 50% with 2 INTs and 0 TDs. I mean he still had that potent offense last year and the Bears weren’t exactly a dominating defense if memory serves.

we'll see if the forecast changes

but right now its supposed to be 30 and sunny… shouldn’t really effect the game, but maybe that’ll change later in the week.

Coming and posting updates afterwards does not change the fact that majority of you were enjoying when that guy was posting. The fact that it was not put to a stop at that time and was in fact encouraged shows that it was allowed on purpose.

I support the Giants like bras support Kim Kardashian's boobs. It can be a struggle, we've had some jiggles, but we're still firm.

We responded to his posts but when we realizied he was trolling we stopped.

The fact that you say that you allow things there is the reason a troll can come and take over your site. Fine you do your way and we do our way. You can continue to have the last word on any topic and when you can’t or do not want to do it directly then you can let the trolls from other teams take the cheap shots at us.

We just are discussing different styles of doing things. Also have learned to watch out next few weeks for our next games. The 49ers or Saints fans will be worse anyway with the loooong filibuster posts by 49ers fans or the who dat’s by Saints fans lol.
