PrintJust when you want to go and rub dirt in the face of Dallas Cowboys fans after the New York Giants ended another Dallas season in despair one of them goes and does something nice for you. Which effectively takes all the fun out of picking on them. Bummer!
Then again, this is also a great thing for us. A community member from Blogging the Boys has taken the time to provide us with complete posting and commenting stats for Big Blue View for the past two years. Maybe this was his way of dealing with his misery. Whatever the reason, the result is pretty awesome.

Topline 2011 stats.
- Five different front page writers combined to bring you 1,600 front page posts in 2011, a significant increase versus the 1,262 in 2010.
- 272 BBV members wrote a combined 819 Fanposts last year. That's slightly up versus 2010 (715).
- 106 BBV members posted a total of 270 Fanshots in 2011, also up versus 2010 (218).

All these numbers show is that I really need to get a life. Combine this with all the writing I do at SB Nation New York and it's no wonder my neck and my arms hurt most of the time.

and members who write so many interesting posts.
I poke around more than a few of the other SB football blogs and while some of them are done well with writers comparable to yourself and the other guys here who work the front page, most however, are not well done, and a few are even downright awful, with front page posts that look like the work of a teenager. The other really noticeable difference is the membership numbers. BBV looks to me to be far out front in volume of members, readers, and posters than any other blog I’ve looked at.
You can take that as a compliment, Ed, for the quality and regularity of yours, and the up front writers here.

BBI and Tito are beasts! and a lot of other guys are great as well. I’m surprised Ror44 wasn’t up there. Alot of people don’t often agree with him, but he’s a big time contributer. well, having a laptop on the coffee table in the living room certainly helps....
I can type without looking and fast, so it doesn’t distract from me watching, plus, I am always rewinding back and forth on the game anyways, read comments during commercials, etc.
I find the ebb and flow of insanity enjoyable…. maybe it’s just the masochist in me.

Guess I might have to stay away from the game threads too. Ed and Brian are a little bit tooooo sensitive on the game threads. I love this site too much to keep getting banned for saying someone sucks and then having to beg them to lift the ban off my account. I’m done with those game threads

I don't go near them..I'll read them, but will not comment..I suggested to Ed to just..
Let the feeding frenzy occur..Ignore them and then just delete them..There are alot of folks that don’t regularly participate that suddenly show up at those threads..I can’t be bothered..Tonights as far as I’ve read isn’t bad at all..but Most of them get pretty nasty.

If i am able to watch the game on tv then i just relax on recliner and lean back and while am facing tv, i have the laptop in my lap.
Sometimes i type here. But having the laptop connected to nfl.com keeps me updated on stats.

And of course the community at large. The quality of information here is excellent. I appreciate that Ed and the writers don’t act like homers who always see all good when we’re winning and all bad when we aren’t. If I wanted cheerleaders I’d root for the Jets.
I also think that even though the rules around here aren’t popular, they are part of what makes things work for us. Its been a rough season, and at times we can get nasty with each other, but we don’t tend to get really offensive (I admit that I don’t read game threads anymore). I think it’s why we have so much fun with this.

I'm trying to survive a season here..I got banned for a few days already..so I've toned things down a bit..
Some clown picked on Simms McConkey…So I shot a missile at him..then flagged him..But I wound up getting banned along with that bum..So I felt compelled to just tell Ed how I felt and after some e-mail exchanges he un-banned me..I didn’t want to be banned without him knowing how I felt..then I’d have been fine with it..The mistake I made was I should have just flagged the guy..but I didn’t..I really didn’t know what that flag button was all about..So I am trying to still be a bit of a nuthead without pissing the boss off..and it is hard..haha..
