rematches
With all the talk about a super bowl rematch of teams, qbs, etc., I was wondering how many Super Bowls had a rematch of teams that played in the regular season (like this year, with the Giants beating the Pats), and how that record turned out. I only researched back as far as the first Giants SB, which is 25 SB's ago. In those 25 SB's, 7 of them were a rematch of regular season games from that year and 5 times the eventual SB champion lost in the regular season, but won the rematch. Our G-men were involved in 3 of the 7, having lost to the Patriots and Bills, but having beaten the Broncos. The only SB we played in that wasn't a rematch from the regular season was the year we played the Ravens. The Pats were involved in 1 other, having lost to the Rams the season that they upset "the Greatest Show on Turf". I don't think this means anything as far as this game goes, but it was just something I was curious about
