Great post Steps...

The anthem that day is the best of all time. Still gives me chills watching it.

The Otis picture is right before he does the stiff arm/upper cut.

The Baker and Ingram plays were just a thing of beauty.

And I heard Carl Banks said right when it ended, Parcells said to him and LT, “take me fore a ride boys”, then they carried him off.

Agreed on the anthem

After that whats-her-name butchered it last year I paused the game and played this for everyone in at my house.

So many memories from this game…The opening drive, Megget’s run after getting tripped by his own man, Ingram’s sheer will to get the first, Otis’ upper cut, Hostetler holding onto the ball to take the safety, Touchdown Maker’s tip-toe, Darryl Talley’s ugly mug, Otis wearing practice pants, Thurman Thomas running wild, and obviously Wide Right…

Bad ass

nywins42 needs a new screen name - "nywins46" sounds great!

Just ordered FatHeads for all available Giants. Now I have something to aim at when punching holes in my wall.

Thank you...

But let’s just say I’m 21 with 21 years experience. :)

that picture of Smith sacking Hostetler shows how close we came to losing that

If Smith had managed to knock the ball loose and fall on it, it’s a different game. That’s not to say the Giants would have lost – they’d have to had to try for a TD near the end rather than have Barr kick the field goal, and Norwood’s miss would’ve sent the game into OT (assuming everything went the same, which you can’t assume anyway).

Yeah

Everyone listen to that rendition of the SSB right now

re: Anthem

my humble suggestion is that everyone who is watching the game cue up this version.

When the time comes, mute your TV, and play this.

You PLAY to WIN the GAME.
Dear Tebow, please let the Giants beat the Patriots.

Big ups to Step up...

foe stepping up and making a big post. Ottis really played a good game MVP worthy. Meggett, Bavaro…damn I miss those guys.

If you want to argue that Manning is a) not a great quarterback or b) not the best quarterback in franchise history your credibility is automatically shot.

How times have changed

Artists today are so image conscious that Whitney looks like she is on her way to get frozen yogurt at a Florida strip mall.

Nice pic of Megget

celebrating when Scott Norwood is walking with his head down after missing the field goal.

This is not the 2007 team.
2011 NYG will have their own legacy.

NICE!!!! Great game!

I still get nervous when Norwood lines up to attempt that FG. . . I think I’ll watch the highlights of that tonight!

by Landeta on Jan 27, 2012 10:37 PM EST reply actions

Best renditon of the SSB, ever.

Also, hulu.com has an amazing highlight reel of the game. It’s almost all I have to go by, since I was born four days after the game.

Great post!

i still can't believe this was 20 years ago

I have a hard time remember the entire game, but the Ingram catch, the OJ stiff arm/uppercut, and obviously wide right. I was tebowing actually when Norwood kicked that ball.
