PFF Names All NFC East Team
A little something that isn't Super Bowl related for you to debate into the evening hours today. Pro Football Focus has released its All NFC East Team, and there are of course several New York Giants on it. I am just going to give you the entire PFF list, and let you guys tell me what you think.
Offense
Quarterback: Eli Manning, NYG
Running Back: Lesean McCoy, PHI
Tight End: Jason Witten, DAL
Wide Receivers: Hakeen Nicks and Victor Cruz, NYG and Dez Bryant, DAL
Tackles: Jason Peters, PHI and Tyron Smith, DAL
Guards: Evan Mathis, PHI and Chris Snee, NYG
Center: Will Montgomery, WAS
Defense
Defensive Ends: Jason Pierre-Paul, NYG and Trent Cole, PHI
Defensive Tackles: Jay Ratliff, DAL and Cullen Jenkins, PHI
Linebackers: Sean Lee and Demarcus Ware, DAL and London Fletcher, WAS
Cornerbacks: Asante Samuel, PHI and Josh Wilson, WAS
Safeties: Kenny Philips, NYG and Laron Landry, WAS
Special Teams
Kicker: Dan Bailey, DAL
Punter: Steve Weatherford, NYG
Returner: Brandon Banks, WAS
Special Teamer: Colt Anderson, PHI
Maybe the only Giant I might try to build a case for as a snub would be Corey Webster. Your thoughts, Giants fans?

Boley should be on there too
he might even be our defensive MVP, when he came back and especially after he took a few games to get back in rhythm it really, really showed how important he is out there. Glad Kenny Phillips made it too, if he was supposedly on that hit/miss meter as far as first round picks, he’s most definitely a hit now.
And yes, Web should probably be there over Josh Wilson (too many Redskins on that list anyway). But overall its tough to do so cuz the Giants defense was so bad for most of the season, can’t really let the past few weeks cloud judgement on this.

First name I thought of
But over Sean Lee, Ware or Fletcher? Hard to make that case.
Blue is the color of melancholy and honesty
Green is the color of inexperience, envy and nausea.
I agree
but who would he go over? Ware isn’t a LB in the sense the other 2 are but he’s gotta be there. it’s really close between Lee, Fletcher and Boley.
Isn't it based on PFF scores, so high score makes the team No?
Eli is our King!
DeSean who?
Yeah, I thought so.

If the pats secure the ball, then the pats win, but if they fumble or let the ball get striped than the giants win. every game the giants play they always benefit from the other teams bonehead mistakes (fumbled or striped) not from thier skills. Just a quick side note
Shout out to Seal Team 6 for freeing an American civilian and a Danish Citizen. Also Killing all 9 Pirates in Somalia that were holding them hostage. Also Congrats to the Prez for giving the Order.

Three picks of Brady on center stage in Indy...
should do the trick.
If he did that and won SB MVP

I agree, but
He s steady. Never spectacular. Sometimes there are guys who r never considered great, but who s teams would never win without them. That is C Web! I LOVE him!
by Giant Ken on Jan 25, 2012 10:39 PM EST via mobile up reply actions
he seemed pretty spectacular vs. Buffalo don't you think?
put his game vs. Stevie Johnson against what Revis did vs. Stevie Johnson.
they both gave up TDs at the goal line. But Stevie coulda iced it had he just caught that pass, and he ultimately had a better game vs. Revis even w/ that drop.

Offense is right on, D....?
Web should make it, but probably got hurt by all the blown coverages. i think PFF has the hardest time with rating secondary because unless you know what the coverage is supposed to be, hard to say who’s at fault when somebody runs free for a TD reception.
You can make a case for Boley, but it would require bumping Lee, who also had a great year.
Pretty good, all in all
p.s. it's really a commentary on how week the safeties are in our division
that Phillips made it. For most of the year he was lining up in another zip code from the action. Didn’t seem very impactful to me, but i don’t get to see the “All 22” film either.
Really?
This list seems pretty fair to me.
Other than CWeb being left off, of course. That’s an atrocity obviously.
GIANTS! 2011 NFC East Champs!
From his description
It seems like the writer considers “nickleback” a completely separate position from “outside cornerback”. CWeb was almost never on the slot guy, so I guess that explains it…
That’s the only reason I could think of.
GIANTS! 2011 NFC East Champs!
the kicker too...
the moron (@PFF_John) even has Scandrick above Webster as his slot Corner.
but don’t worry guys, I sent him a nice little note on twitter…..

I like his picks
the explanations are a bit wackball, but that’s to be expected from Jimbo. I mean I love Kenny Phillips as the safety of my team, its not his fault his safety partner is slow as molasses.
Last night, a comedian died in New York. Somebody knows why. Somebody knows
Eli Manning
But JimmyK makes that ridiculous little jab at Eli about how he’s “not elite,” but he is better than Tony Romo. Thanks, JimmyK. We would’ve all doubted your commitment to honest journalism if you hadn’t made sure to make it clear that you don’t think Eli is elite.

Bomar is neither old nor tired. Whenever individual praise is to be heaped upon NFL players there will inevitably be comparisons to this all time great behemoth of a man. As long as there is an NFL there will always be records kept of the greatest Giants never to play.
And his influence shall ring throughout the halls of the BBV forever! If this is your feeling toward Rhett, at least give us a retirement post so that we can all have our final moments with the man the myth the legend. The man that meant so much to so many, a leader of men, and just maybe the best punchline ever here at Big Blue View.

This is not the 2007 team.
2011 NYG will have their own legacy.
I disagree
The long wait between the NFC championship and the Superbowl has always been FAR more interesting when we are still talking about my team than in the years when we aren’t. Bring on more stories about Chris Canty’s Grandma. Bring on more stories about Victor Cruz’s favorite dance moves. Bring on more stories about the size of David Bass’s head. I don’t care. I love it all.
(Okay, the last two years haven’t been that boring, because it meant two weeks of rehashing what went wrong with the Jets, that’s not my point.)
I would think Fred Davis would made it over Jason Witten. Cwebb and Aaron Ross are better than those two corner backs.
Not Ross
Sorry, homerism does not trump reality.

Asante Samuel?
As in the same twatgoblin who can’t cover or tackle for shit and runs around the field like a homeless pixie on the rare occasion that the gravity of the universe places him in the general vicinity of the action?
That moron got selected over a (easily) top 5 cornerback in the NFL in Corey Webster?

If i had my choice
it’d be Webster and Samuels
Asante doesn’t really like tackling, this is well documented but the guy plays “off” coverage probably better than most Corners in the EAST….granted that’s his strength, and yes, he does guess a lot and take chances, but he also gets the stats.
should he be above Webster…IMO, heck no.
but if this was my list he would be starting opposite Webster on the outside.

Three seasons of soul crushing heartbreak have numbed Pats fans.
I think they’re almost as sure they are going to lose this one as they were confident they would win SB42. Plus it is the 5th one in a decade.

Snee
Anyone surprised to see Snee on the team, considering mostly negative weekly grades from PFF? I guess there’s only 1 good guard in this division (Mathis) and Snee was just the best of the rest?
Nicks and Cruz
combined with Eli is an incredible trio. Best in the NFL?
