Getting to the Championship game was great, you guys should be very proud of your season

and that D will scare me for a long time to come

by a hay on Jan 23, 2012 2:46 AM EST up reply actions

aside from ravens and steeled teams from recent years

It’s been years Since I’ve seen such an dominant, playmaking d like that since Bears 85 and Giants 86 (obviously missing a slew of great d’s post 85, but those are the ones that spring immediately to mind). I live in Oakland and watched the game amidst a sea of Niners fans, who gave me serious props for my evenkeeled analysis, as I even bemoaned the first bothched punt and said I hope our team doesn’t win on something as silly as that.

So many either one and down or maybe a couple first downs followed by an immediate stop in the 2nd half. No rhythm, barely a running game, Eli nearly always under pressure – and it ain’t like out Offense is chopped liver.

Do you think Harbaugh/your O-Coordinator got a bit too cute, or just plain old called a shitty game like I do? They were gashing the G def running on first down, setting up 2nd and 6’s or 5’s, but they seems to abandon that a throw on first (for nothing), run on 2nd, and then face down too many 3rd downs and 6’s or 7’s, forcing them to again throw.

Frankly, it’s a game I thought y’all should have won, and trust me, it pains me to type that out. Congrats on a great year, and if Smith can learn how to throw a bullet sideline pass 10+ yards downfield, and if y’all pick up a receiver or two you will be even better…and frankly, that scares me.
