I'm interested to see

just how physical the Ravens play today, and how New England reacts to it. If Baltimore punches that Patriot offense straight in the mouth the way they have to Pittsburgh in the past, do they come back fired up or recoil? Can Flacco win in a shoot-out? Will Ray Rice keep Brady on the bench? Let’s do this!

I don't know if my marriage can survive another Pats-Giants Superbowl.

My father in law is a Pats season ticket holder and my wife is a die hard fan whose been attending games since she was a toddler. In January 2008, he sent us with his 2 tickets to see the AFC Championship game vs. the Chargers. It was an ugly game but I bellowed for the defense all game long and the Pats won.

When we got to the parking lot, the Giants were up 3-0. We left the lot when Farva hit Driver on the long touchdown, looking for a bar off the highway. We were quickly bounced from some crappy chain restaurant like Applebee’s and went to a real bar to watch the Giants-Pack game. The other bar patrons were nice to me, a bit of teasing and such because I was so anxious and crazy during the game. I remember kneeling on the bar floor facing away from the TV for the OT field goal. I remember how good we both felt to have our teams win on championship Sunday.

The Superbowl? That’s a whole different story…

You PLAY to WIN the GAME.

I really think we would smash the patriots, and the ravens would be much tougher. But it doesn’t really matter, as long as we get there.

27-17 Ravens

The playoffs have been a referendum on offense v. defense, and defense is winning. People are thinking too much about last week when evaluating these teams. The texans were really good, and the broncos were really, really bad. People forget that the texans were probably the best team in the entire NFL before Shaub went down. People love to doubt flacco, but he has lead his team to victories before. The Pats are gonna get exposed big time.

that doesn't bother me as much this time of year for a couple of reasons

First, during the season, when we’re the favorite, we’re more likely to let up and let down. But now in the home stretch, after all this team has been through, with the way these guys are motivated and hungry and playing together now. . . I think the risk is less. Is it there? Sure. But it’s less.

Second, by the end of the year, even the talking heads in the media begin to catch on to what a team is about and can do. Earlier in the year, they basically base their assessments of teams on the previous year and on free agency (see: Eagles, Philadelphia). So we were more liely to be underestimated during this year because of last year’s high profile melt and Eli’s interceptions.

So I actually think the conventional wisdom has caught up a bit with reality, especially as the nyg has gotten healthy and more consistent without the blown plays that hurt them in the secondary. And I think this team is very very hungry, is taking nothing for granted given the way the season has unfolded, and given the level of competition the team saw throughout the year. That, plus there is more championship experience on the Giants among the players and the coaches.

But he brought it home in style if you ask me. Once the lyrics went to “oh say does that star….” I thought he nailed it like he was 25 years younger.

BTW, I have heard from professional singers that that is THE hardest song to sing EVA

The routes being run

by New England are so quick and short that extra down lineman or blitzing LBs won’t help Baltimore much. They can’t get to Brady before the ball is gone. I’m not sure the Ravens will be able to stop NE unless they can force mistakes.

Yeah but those passes don't get much yardage

if they stay disciplined, they can force fg’s in the red zone and hope the offense makes plays

HOW WE FEELIN GIANTS FANS!

I had an idea while bringing home the wings…

1. According to the story lines, there are two “offense” teams and two “defense” teams playing today.

2. We are one of the offense teams, and I don’t like that!

3. What I would like to see more than anything else is for the story of this game to be the GIANTS DEFENSE.

Strahan is an honorary captain today… let’s do him proud… let’s shut down the 49ers hell let’s pitch a shutout! I want the story to be

GIANTS DEFENSE

You PLAY to WIN the GAME.
Dear Tebow, please let the Giants beat the 49ers.

Finally put an end to the “the Giants got lucky and none of their 4 previous opponents were any good” narrative? I thought we’d be done with it after the GB game but nope, the Giants just got to face a bad team again.
