Giants tight end Jake Ballard apparently did not practice today and has been listed as doubtful. It seems his knee is acting up again. Center David Baas did not practice, apparently having gotten Eli Manning's flu bug.

Thanks for my morning giggles

You guys really need to focus on our last four games. It’s been shown over and over that a football teams last three, four games are the most powerful indicator of where they are at. I don’t even think aout our last game, because both teams have changed since then (if it was a low out then it would be a better indicator)

You guys had 4 short fields you turned into 17 points, against a piss poor guessing game defense. And the Saints have clear history of scoring and defending worse outdoors. So you think that bumbling on offense and having a couple of 4th qtr drives indicates offensive efficiency?

Seriously though, every report out there says that he is listed as questionable and he himself has stated that he will play.

Don't shun me, but I think Romo is probably the 6th best QB in the league.

I’d take Brady, Rodgers, Brees, Eli, Roethlisberger before him. I’d say Romo, based on the numbers, is probably tied for 6th with Stafford and Rivers. Stafford is more talented than any of those three, but he’s made of glass. Rivers and Romo are ultra-accurate and have great arms, but they find ways to be on losing games, and can’t close games out.

So if 6th or 7th is elite, I’d say Romo is there.

That's what I mean...

If you look at Romo’s stats then you can make the elite argument. It’s the intangibles that bring his rep down.

I agree, I suppose...though this year, I thought he became a step closer, what with the broken rib comeback victory

vs the niners, and also because he played brilliantly down the stretch, only to lose cause of his defense. Then again, the jets and lions games also come to mind…

not sure about that

by maculis on Jan 21, 2012 8:48 AM EST up reply actions

That actually seems accurate to me

Romo took a step up this year IMO. Instead of the team struggling through his mistakes, most of the year was him carrying a team that couldn’t do anything right, the jets and lions games notwithstanding. I think the niners game was a huge gut-check game, playing through a punctured lung is just ridiculous. And he looked incredible in that first redskins game where he didn’t throw a touchdown but just took the team on his back. And Brooking is right, the cowboys just don’t have a lot of talent right now. For years we’ve been hearing “omg most talent in the league” over and over, but who do they really have on defense besides Ware, Lee, and Ratliff? Ratliff isn’t really his old self anymore either. Everybody else is a JAG, and their secondary was probably worse than ours. The giants at least have talent with Philips and Webster, the Boys have gerald effing sensabaugh and terrance oldman. Offense is pretty much mediocre, Austin and Dez disappear for big games and they’re all always on the injury report with Felix Jones.

Go Giants!

Can you believe it

Opposing fans are heckled at a stadium. Honestly I am shocked and appalled. Some Brown fans tackled a child in the parking lot because they were cheering for the other team. A saint fan shot two niner fans on the east coast for cheering on the niners and Raider fans come to our stadium to shoot us and 49er fans are the bad ones…

When was the last time there was an issue at a Giants game

Used to have Rangers and Knicks tix. They had a ton of security at the Garden. Ranger fans would get so drunk theyd fight each other. Now those guys were nuts. Even with cops everywhere, they’d brawl. And promptly get ejected.

The tight end believes that he will be healthier when the Giants oppose the 49ers than he was in Sunday’s win over Green Bay. He said his procedure only took a couple of minutes but his knee hurt enough to keep him out of practice Friday.

Feeling good about this. You could argue he’s had just as good a season as VD (Vernon Davis)

wouldn't be suprised

I think he’s somewhat known in the bodybuilding world. The NFL is probably the most ‘roid scandal-proof league, though. The QBs are the stars, and the only reason they would use it would be to come back from injury. It’s not like they have to pump up their fastball or their bat speed. They say the biggest reasons athletes use them is to bounce back from injury and extend their careers, and I really can’t say I get mad about that. I wouldn’t be surprised if the majority of the league, especially linemen, were on HGH. Why shouldn’t they be able to do that? The reason everybody hated the baseball players was because they broke these holy statistics, but nobody cares about football stats. Snee doesn’t even have stats, so who gives one?
