Giants 21, Cowboys 0: Second Half Open Thread
You couldn't have asked for a much better first half, New York Giants fans. A 21-0 lead with pretty much every fortunate bounce going the Giants' way. A Victor Cruz salsa dance. NBC shots of Jerry Jones looking stunned. So far, so good.
Thing is, since Day 1 of training camp Giants coach Tom Coughlin has talked about finishing. Now we see if the Giants can finish what they have started here, thus finishing the Cowboys season and getting ready to host the Atlanta Falcons in a wild-card weekend playoff game.
It's been a great beginning. Giants fans know their team has been here before, though. It means nothing if the Giants don't finish it.
Let's see what happens.

I think that may have been the stadium speakers, NBC must have a mic near those or something.

But the play that turned into the 74-yard TD by Cruz was a brilliant call. And not just because it worked – it’s damn hard to defend a quick out against a guy like Cruz, and rolling Manning in that direction to prevent any pressure was perfect.

So glad I didn’t buy tickets to this game. Bleh. The Cowboys teased me. Yet again. Not Romo’s fault. Mostly due to horrible play calling and clock management. Have fun with the Falcons and then Packers, then possibly the Saints.

That being said, once again Eli gets it down head to head against Romo.
A Romo led Dallas team has not beaten an Eli led Giants team since 2008.
And Eli stands alone in history in a very impressive category. TD’s thrown in the fourth quarter.

Read EA's book
He discusses the entire proccess from scouting to draft day. He loved Eli a lot more than both RIvers and Ben . . . his initial scouting report of Eli is shockingly right on . . . a lot of it has to do with how competative his Ole Miss teams were with crappy talent, how Eli carried a team in the brutally tough SEC, very telling especailly after what I saw this year.

We just held the Boys to 14 after giving up 34 to the same team 3 weeks ago, and that was directly because of the D’s play. We stopped a team on 4 and 1, that was great!!
well I say the D has given up
14 points in the last two games… the other 14 were because the offense gave the opponents the ball within the 30.

NOW WE GET A DOME TEAM...
TO COME TO OUR HOUSE….AND THEY’RE NOT THE SAINTS OR EVEN THE LIONS. LET’S GET READY FOR SOME ROASTED FALCON.
LOL...
Dilfer just said Romo doesn’t have the talent around him yet all year we heard about how AWESOME Bryant, Austin, and Witten were.
every year I hear how bryant's gonna be a beast
im still waiting for that

What came first? The great talent or the great scheme?
im amused watching facebook explode with "go giants" and the like
and im ready to blast this one douche canoe in the face who hates eli for no particular reason

I guess that ends the "fluke" comments regarding Catch XLII
That escape and bomb Eli pulled off and the cruz catch were extremely reminiscent of that catch that everybody but NY Giants fans claims was pure luck. A Bronx Cheer for them from now on.
Bleeding Blue since 1962
Right on
That play is Eli . . . thats what he is . . . .
He is not pinpoint accurate ala Rogers or Bress. . . he does not have the command for 4 quarters the way his brother or Brady do BUT he can make big plays in the clutch. . .
Risk Reward with Eli he might piss some plays away but he makes truley great ones in the clutch thats why he has a SB MVP award, guys that don’t take those risks don’t make those sorts of plays. . . ala McNabb
Wait a minute
Eli this year is very accurate. He throws pinpoint passes into double coverage and scares the hell out of me. But he’s money this year. Amazing.
Go Giants!
Great points.
This year, when I see Eli throw it long, before you can see the receiver in the picture frame, I have alot of confidence that it will be caught. And this is a great feeling to have,

great win,
playoffs I will take it.
all based on the DL…. BOley had a nice game. DL dominated…
Cruz is insane……….Congrats
I'd like to thank BSPN
for setting us straight. The Cowboys clearly lost this game, the Giants were just so fortunate to be the recipients.
of course of course
because Romo’s Swollen Hand > the entire Giants organization

We earned it
But had a bunch of fortunate bounces. That always helps.
Strikeouts are boring- Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.

Dallas was sleep walking
Giants were a little more alert. . . Giants came out better tonight and for the most part maintained it.
do you guys know if Cruz is a free agent after this year?

keep hoping Dez pans out.

I would say that Cruz and Eli have been money this year...
but given the state of the economy, money aspires to be Cruz and Eli.
So happy!!!!!
words… can’t express them…. GIANTS

Wow
Dilfer just said that Eli is only elite if he can make a big run in the playoffs to prove it.
Wonder if Dilfer is elite by DIlfer's standards?

In a thread this morning
there was talk of the Giants wearing their white uniforms.
People had “heard” it was going to happen. I doubted it, but was still curious to see if it was actually the case.
I’m glad they did not. And I’m feeling pretty good about our play at home right now.
Can’t wait to welcome in the Dome Falcons who are such a different team away from the cozy little dome they play in

Thanks to working a double-shift on New Year’s Eve into this afternoon (yay police work!). Went out to watch the game tonight…riding sky high right now. Got tickets for next week’s game…oooooooooh man. Can’t wait!
Crazy stat

All i can really say is we did not collapse for once. We pulled together as a team and wonwhen we needed too.
Umm..
When exactly have you seen us collapse? Please do tell
