You might want to walk away from your computer screen or mobile device right now, New York Giants' fans. Defensive captain Justin Tuck has not practiced this week due to a neck injury and is not guaranteeing that he will play Sunday when in the season-opener against the Washington Redskins.
Tuck told reporters he was "concerned," but "not panicked" about his neck issue, which he apparently said is related to the stinger he got in the preseason against the New York Jets. Tuck was listed as "questionable" on Wednesday's injury report.
The Giants have already lost starters Jonathan Goff and Terrell Thomas to season-ending injuries. Defensive end Osi Umenyiora (knee) and cornerback Prince Amukamara (foot) won't play, either.
If Tuck is unable to play, that would be a devastating blow to the Giants defense. Despite all their injuries, with Tuck they still have their best player and still boast the ability to dominate a game with their pass rush. Without him? Who knows.
