Randy Moss Open to Return, Giants On His List
Randy Moss is apparently open to un-retiring, per Adam Schefter of NFL Network. Per Schefter, the New York Giants are on the list of teams he would return to play for.
It's Philadelphia Eagles game day, and this is probably not the greatest time for this discussion. I know, though, that some of you have beating the Moss drum for the past few days.
Would you like to see the Giants make this move? I just don't know, to be honest. Moss is a headache and 2010, when he caught just 28 balls for three different teams, makes you wonder how truly interested he is in playing and how much he has left.
Still, he caught 83 balls in 2009 and at his best was one of the best receivers in the game -- if not the best. Gaints GM Jerry Reese recently said he would not rule out bringing Moss to the Giants.
Your thoughts?

I like Moss, but
When M-Ham’s back the Giants have 2 receivers who can stretch the field. They need a possession receiver who will play the slot, run short & intermediate routes over the middle. That’s not Moss. They also need a legitimate tight end.
What they need...
is a weapon in the receiving game that scares teams, someone that will force teams to stop putting 8 men in the box to stop the run. So what if he catches only 30 balls all year. Like the Pats, we just need him out there as a decoy to keep defenses honest. Sign Moss and watch the running game flourish.

Won't happen
Look, he’s one of the best to ever play the position, and talent like his doesn’t just go away.
However, he’s a distraction, and wherever he goes, he brings trouble with him. After what happened with Plax in 2008, I highly doubt Coughlin even considers adding him.
What harm would it do?
At this point in his career, he’s done it all etc… and given the state of where the Giants are, bring him in and give him a shot. Health is always an issue with us, and even if Ham and Nicks are healthy, Moss’ presence alone would be beneficial. Nicks and Moss on the outside with Ham in the slot! Moss only needs one or two routes, and that would presumably open up the underneath etc…
If “Moss is interested”, than his mind may be in a better place!
We piss poor attitude in the locker room
I would rather our young guys not learn bad habits and selfish me 1st habits.
Why is Tom Quinn still here? I loves me some Coach Clawfin.

Yes
Under ordinary circumstances, no. But with Hixon gone for the season, Barden on PUP, Manningham out with a concussion for who knows how long, and Beckum always injured and/or underperforming, yes. I understand all the distractions he causes, and it need not be for a multi-year deal, but right now teams need only double Nicks, and they shut down our passing game, and crowd the box. As soon as he causes problems, he’s gone. Until then, why not use him to stretch the field.
can we fast forward an hour and fifteen minutes already?

I would love to see Moss in a Giants uniform.
Buy I don’t think it will happened based on the fact that one of the reasons give for his deciding to retire is that no team would pay him the level of money he was looking for.

I'd rather see a trade for B. Marshall
The Dolphins are implode mode and Marshall could stretch the field and run the tough inside routes. He’s a chain mover, Nicks is a home run guy and Ham….well that guy is hit or miss sometimes.
Why not send AB for Marshall and we could put D’ Scott in the mix since we know he’s the future.
Please get Phil Simms in the Hall of Fame
Why?

Denver
Remember his antics in Denver? And the domestic violence issues?
He wanted out of Denver...
And they wouldn’t let him go. That is when he became troublesome there. As far as his domestic issues; that’s between him and his wife, nothing to do with football.

Well, he isn't, is he?
Matter of fact, half this team is walking wounded. But hey, you’re right, our organization can’t handle him the way the pats did for years. And you’re right, we will be just fine, with Nicks and….and…..and……uhhhhhhhhhh.

Unless he trips getting off the bus.
Can the inactives be activated if the Giants have injuries during the game?

No surprise...
Since TC is such an old fool. Let’s never play our potentially most explosive offensive player. Keep up the great work coach. Seriously, can we blow up this staff and build a new one? Sometimes, I honestly think this team achieves despite the coaches, not because of them.

I wouldn't rule out Moss
but I agree with many of the other posts that it is unlikely to happen.
With the way Moss can play the deep ball he may be worth a look
I would have never wanted him, but this team has received alot more injuries than we were ready for. I’d prefer someone else but who…Duke Calhoun lol…At least give him a work out and bring him in. If he isn’t worth it then let JR and TC talk it out.

"New York Giants are on the list of teams [Moss] would return to play for."
That’s not what Schefter said. He speculated that the Giants were among a number of teams that “could interest him.” There’s a huge difference between Moss saying he would play for the Giants and a sportswriter conjecturing that Moss might be interested in playing for them.
Agreed.

Borderline Personality
Brandon Marshall has very publicly admitted he has been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and is now taking steps to get it under control. A lot of his previous issues could be traced back to it.
I’m not saying we should make that trade, but I think his problem child days are behind him.
JPP
Just scrambled Vick’s brain a little more
The Giants have nothing to lose...
Moss has nothing to lose. The Giants could use and extra set of hands right now. I still think Cruz is iffy, dropped a couple of easy throws despite the 2 touchdowns.
No suprise these teams are in the discussions
Eagles and Jets just want to steal players they don’t need.
