Back by popular demand is this weeks Giants-Eagles matchup Madden simulation! With some unknowns abound, I decided to do two simulations. One with Vick, one without. The outcomes couldn't be more different. In both matchups, Manningham was active (hey i'm being optimistic.) I know he's questionable and might not start, but i'm not doing these simulations over again. So lets start off with the Vick is active game.

Giants really didnt have a problem moving the ball in the first half against the Eagles, however two turnovers led to immediate touchdowns by Philly. A 61yd pick six by Casey Matthews put the first 7 on the board. Missed tackles by Hynoski and Eli couldn't bring the younger Matthews down. In the second quarter, Brandon Jacobs fumbled deep in Eagles territory and Jarrad Page scooped it up, rumbling 83 yds for Phillys second touchdown. Lawrence Tynes added a 39 yd FG to finally put points on the board for G-men right before the end of the half. As for the Philly offense, not much was going right for them in terms of moving the ball. Must have been due to Vick still recovering from that concussion.

In the second half, both offenses really opened up. Vick and Manning traded touchdown passes. Vick to Maclin, Eli to Nicks. Alex Henery made a 34 yd fg and Tynes missed a 51 yarder. Third quarter ended with the score Eagles 24, Giants 10. Onto the fourth, where Vick really took over. A 12 yard Touchdown run made it 30-10 (Henery missed xtra pt) and then Vick completed a 19 yds score to traitor Steve Smith, 37-10. Before the end of the game, Giants added two scores for themselves: 26 yard run by Bradshaw, and a 1 yd strike from Eli to Pascoe. But it was too little too late and Eagles prevailed 37-24. Giants could never escape the hole they dug themselves after the 2 Eagles defensive TD's in the first half. Also going 2/11 on third downs throughout the game stalled some key drives (sound familiar?)

Onto the game where Vick is out, meaning Mike Kafka will start. As I said above, this one couldn't be more different. Giants defense pummeled Kafka into bad decisions leading to 4 INT's, and eventually a Greg Jones third quarter sack forced him out of the game with a shoulder injury. Vince Young took over and did better, despite giving up a fumble on a Kiwanuka sack. As for the Giants offense, Eli passed for 294 yds, 2 TD on long completions, a 54 yd bomb to Manningham in the 1st quarter and a 39 yd post to Nicks in the fourth. Jacobs scored twice (11 yd rush in 1st quarter, 8 yd rush in 2nd quarter) and Bradshaw scored once (17 yd rush in third quarter.) Giants led 24-10 after the 1st half and never looked back winning 38-20.
