Today is opening day of the 2011 NFL season for your New York Giants. It is also the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. We will talk plenty about football today, but let's also take time to remember an event that -- in truth -- is more significant to Americans than any football game ever will be.
Earlier this week, I encouraged those of you who wanted to share your feelings to use the 'Fanpost' section to express yourself. Please, do so today if you feel the need.
Also, please stop by SB Nation New York to read the personal 9/11 remembrances of several members of the SBN NY staff.
Finally, please remember that no matter the outcome of today's Giants-Washington Redskins game, there are more important events in the world. Take some time today to reflect on 9/11 and honor those who did not make it home that day.
