Here is a great quote today from New York Giants safety Deon Grant about head coach Tom Coughlin. It comes in the wake of the criticism from that New York Jets wide receiver whose name I am not going to use.
"People come here to win," Grant said. "They don't pay attention to the other stuff. At the end of the day, (Coughlin) has his strict rules that some of us may not agree with, but we're gonna respect it, because at the end of the day and the beginning of the day, we know that his main purpose is to win and win ballgames."
I was going to 'Fanshot' this, but thought it deserved some comment. This, for me, is what it is about. No professional player has ever loved every rule or every decision his coach has made. You are fooling yourself if you don't think some New York Jets occasional wonder what the heck Rex Ryan is doing.
In the end, though, it is about winning. Giants' players know that is what Coughlin cares about, and they understand he has proven he knows how to do that.
