New York Giants Roster Moves: Bruce Johnson Waived/Injured
The brutal nature of the NFL business reared its head this afternoon as the New York Giants waived/injured cornerback Bruce Johnson, who suffered a season-ending ruptured Achilles Tendon during Thursday evening's practice at the Timex Performance Center.
In his place the Giants added cornerback Darnell Burks, a rookie free agent from Fort Valley State in Georgia.
"Very sorry and very sad about Bruce," Giants coach Tom Coughlin said. "Bruce had (injuries) two (years) in a row, the ACL knee and now the Achilles. We were all stunned by it because there was no reason why it should have happened. He was just backpedaling. He was just doing something of that nature and all of a sudden this occurs. Why it happens, I always ask myself that. I feel bad for Bruce."
Burks is a player the Giants had been linked to prior to the draft. He is a 5-foot-10, 178-pound free safety.

178lbs safety?
And only 5’10 too? Camp body.
The football team in my school, they were tough! After they sacked the quarterback they went after his family.

You think we’ll carry 9?
I think 8.
"Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."
LET'S GO RANGERS!!!
gah
that sucks… sometimes things just break. I’ve seen a girl tear her ACL jogging down a basketball court.
hope he heals up fast!
KEEP YOUR HEAD UP BRUCE..

anyone else see Michael Strahan going in on twitter?
he is very strongly defending Osi. He actually cursed. Someone tweeted “who is osi without strahan or tuck?” Michael retweeted the guy and just said “bullshit. they will see when hes gone.”

Strahan used to pull the same shinanigans
Plus Osi’s agent is his old one, I’m not suprised he is defending Osi.

We've seen what it's like when he is gone
2008 – defense looked great without him
2009 – Osi was a liability — Tuck was injured
2010 – 11.5 sacks with 10 FF. By all accounts, a great year. Healthy Tuck and a beefed up secondary.
u should find something else to do! You like the GM,you have your head up your ass!!!!!!!!! we have not singed a linebacker in years think about it, he has on Herry Carson JERSEY, HE is not a pimple on his ass, like I said find something elese to do like go play in the road out side of the stadium, may be u could talk about that. your inputs suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! go back were was the last linebacker we had, get rid of the GM and find someone knows talent.. DON`T KNOW ABOUT ANYONE ELSE IT IS GETTING SICKING..
but hey...
I want movement. I’d like to see him stay and play at a high level but at some point this will only cause problems

its great to have him back
I really think he could start on about half the teams in the NFL. Underrated player and he’s really needed if Kiwi is playing LB and Osi is holding out.
Don't let your bias of him blind you
he’s a solid back up player at best, and there’s about 3-4 teams he might start for, and they’ll be the teams drafting 1-4 next draft. Likable, stand up character guy, not an NFL starter.

he's not good
that be why
Last night, a comedian died in New York. Somebody knows why. Somebody knows
We have Webster, TT, Ross, Prince, Rolle, KP, and Sash.
I’m fine with bringing in another or two, but no one who costs anything really.

Bruce Johnson proving Osi right
This is the reason why I can’t totally blame Osi for trying to get as much money as he can. When you are injured, they can drop you like a hot potato. This could be the end of Bruce Johnson’s career. I wish him all the best.
