NFL Network To Broadcast Giants-Jets Game

PrintA little bonus Saturday for those of you who don't live in the New York area. With the New York Giants vs. New York Jets preseason game re-scheduled for 2 p.m. ET due to Hurricane Irene the game will be broadcast live via NFL Network.
If you live in the New York area you will still be able to tune into the game on WNBC (Channel 4).
NFL Network will show WNBC’s telecast with Bob Papa and Giants Hall of Fame linebacker Harry Carson calling the action. Former Giants tight end Howard Cross and Bruce Beck are sideline reporters.

I think Coach Coughlin should be fired! How come there are no locals in that line-up. Nothing to give the fans a name they know, nobody on that roster that went to Rutgers University, St Johns or any team from New York or New Jersey. And if the locals can’t get a shot on the franchise from the state they live in, why are we fans going to these games. To see some other state, and see our players play for foreign teams (other states) this is the first time in 20 years, the Giants don’t have any locals on their roster.

How come?
I think those guys do a great job, especially Bob. He elevates his voice when something exciting is happening, honestly assesses the players when the Giants are disappointing, doesn’t self promote. I suppose there are times when him and Banks pile on a little when we’re struggling, but as a fan I’m right there with them in being let down. Maybe being a Yankee fan my sites have been set too low for announcers, but I think Bob is really good.
He doesn't have the prototypical voice
His voice cracks. It’s the same thing with Michael Kay. I don’t know how those two ever made it so far in the business.

Change the game to Monday!
Even if the hurricane doesn’t get here until Saturday night, the prediction is for rain on Saturday afternoon. the weather for monday looks good. The giants just played last monday, so this would give them more time to recover.
Tomorrow is fine.
I have a bet that the game will be played tomorrow.
