You think the $21 million guaranteed he got from the Panthers make Ahmad Bradshaw happy today? I would be stunned if the Giants guaranteed Bradshaw that much money.

They really don't have a choice at this point

Bradshaw

was the new Derrick Ward after they let him walk…..

by BigBlue82 on Jul 27, 2011 2:39 PM EDT reply actions

Jake and AB should be getting paid the same.

Ronnie Brown or Ricky Williams anyone. Williams still run hard but would prefer Ronnie.

+1

I would be ok with that if Bradshaw leaves for the money

by BigBlue82 on Jul 27, 2011 2:43 PM EDT up reply actions

DeAngelo got crazy money

That’s bad news for us resigning Bradshaw. Bradshaw has bad ankles and isn’t worth that much of a guarantee even if we could afford it (which I doubt we can).

Carolina kind of screwed us by over paying Williams and giving Bradshaw an unrealistic expectation of his value. What’s plan “C” for getting a number two halfback?

by Senex on Jul 27, 2011 2:45 PM EDT reply actions

Panthers are completely screwing up the market. I had high hopes of landing Ray Edwards, but forget that now. At least this deal might mess you guys up a little, haha.

I say

AB gets about 35 mill., with about 13 mill., guaranteed with G-Men or Fins.

free agents.

My understanding was no team is allowed to talk to a free agent unless they are your own. I thought the jets aren’t allowed to be speaking to nmandi or anyone else? How are people agreeing to terms even thought they can’t talk?

by wrxsti28 on Jul 27, 2011 2:54 PM EDT via mobile reply actions

They can talk, they just cant sign anything.

they cant meet face to face, all of this is being done thru agents and over the phone.

Panthers sign Olindo Mare

from PFT:

Per a league source, veteran kicker Olindo Mare will sign with the Panthers.

The deal, according to the source, is worth $12 million over four years, with a whopping $4 million signing bonus.

So Carolina has f-d up the pay scale for RB, DE, and now Kickers.

by bgn1987 on Jul 27, 2011 2:55 PM EDT reply actions

what the hell?

I’m going to call the Carolina front office and see if they need a software engineer.

Because at this point… who knows?

Say what you will about Jacobs...BUT...

His willingness to restructure his contract shows that this guy is loyal to this team and wants Bradshaw to stay where he is. If Bradshaw were planning on leaving then Jacobs wouldn’t be open to any modification of his contract. I think this is a good sign.

sigh...

by nywins42 on Jul 27, 2011 3:16 PM EDT reply actions

I think he's more loyal to AB than the team

Oddly, they have this bromance thing in spite of competition, and I think that’s more where BJ (weird) head is at.

But once AB walks for big ducats, expect BJ to whine about his own contract.

yeah but they are overpaying their RB

cuz they have no-one else at the other skill positions. So its stupid but understandable.

Yeah but what options

Are out there for the Gmen now that DeAngelo is locked up? This Ab thing now is worrisome to me now if we lose him who left? I dont think Bush is the answer.

damnit
ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports free agent Plaxico Burress is expected to decide between the Giants and Steelers.
One report from a month ago suggested Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers’ coaches were more interested in Plax than the front office and ownership were. Burress will meet with Giants coach Tom Coughlin Friday night, then fly to Pittsburgh to visit coach Mike Tomlin. The Giants have reportedly discussed a two-year, $10.5 million contract with 60 percent in salary and bonuses and the remainder in incentives.

makes sense

LeRon McClain

I am not saying I want this but if BJ doesn’t want to restructure and we can’t afford both him and AB, I think we can replace BJ with LeRon at way less than the $4.65M BJ’s getting.

I still think we’d be better off with what we have right now.

by bgn1987 on Jul 27, 2011 5:17 PM EDT reply actions

if Jake doesn't restructure his contract, he'll just stay here.

If Bradshaw

can’t be had for around 4 a year, which I doubt he can, they don’t need to worry about affording him any more. They can just go back to giving Jacobs the ball 200+ times a year and let him earn that 4 and a half a year.

Kind of funny how just a few weeks ago everybody was saying BJ was overpaid. I’ll be interested to see how the rest of the RB contracts shake out over the free agency period, but if they in any way follow the trend set by the Williams contract, all of a sudden he’s not going to look very overpaid anymore.

course it is

the Jest signed Nnamdi, so right away he’ll be an all pro. And of course the cattleprods are the ‘most talented team in the NFL™’.

I’ll just enjoy when that doesn’t happen.

Amen my brother

I believe this Giants team will be better then last year 2nd year under the Fuel defense and n o way can the offense have as many turnovers as last year. I have a good feeling about this team. Just got to get over the hurdle of the Shegulls/ Giants win that 1st meeting and The sky is the limit……

we're due for one after all the implosions we've had in the same season that we were top 3 if not the best in the nfl

for once i want us to dominate from start to finish..no gettin’ the win w/ a missed field goal in the sb or being the underdog, which was awesome but been there, done that..i want to set sack and int records and have Eli look the way he is capable and all the haters can just shut up!!
