I love Eli Manning.  He is my quarterback and I hope he is my quarterback for many more good years to come.  However, this guys is NOT an elite quarterback.  He is barely in the top ten if you are being nice.   

You can NOT throw as many picks, fumble the ball as many times, and make as many stupid decisions as Eli does and be considered elite when you have guys like Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers just not doing those things.  You just can't.  Elite = Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Big Ben, Phillip Rivers and Drew Brees.  These guys will not make bonehead plays.  These guys show up every sunday and torch everyone.  I hate to admit it but Eli does not do that.  Every Sunday I wake up a little uneasy about how Eli is going to come out and throw the football.  I do not have 100% confidence in my quarterback every Sunday.  I would have 100% confidence in those 6 guys no matter who the defense was.  Now I know some of you will say he has a cannon and throws some beautiful balls at times.  Well, so does Jamarcus Russel. 

As far as the super bowl argument goes, come on man.  Be honest with yourselves.  The Patriots defense that year was NOT that good.  We struggled to do ANYTHING for 3 quarters.  Eli had ONE GOOD drive, and that is exactly what puts Eli where he is in the QB rankings.  He has the ability to forget everything he did for the previous 58 minutes, and turn it on for a 2 minute drill.  If he did not have the nerves to do that he would not even be in the top half of starting qbs. 

I also do not want to hear that our defense sucked last year because IT DID NOT.  They were  thrown to the pit with their backs against the wall over 30 times.  we had a ridiculous amount of turnovers.  The fact that we didnt give up more points should show you how good that defense was.  I feel like every game our defense would DOMINATE in the beginning, 3 and out after 3 and out, and then our offense would just give the ball away numerous times, (usually because of Eli.)   Elite quarterbacks dont put their defense in that position.  Elite quarterbacks protect their defense from being in that position.  Just imagine if Tom Brady or Peyton Manning had the Giants defense for the past 5 years.  They would have definitely won multiple super bowls.

Please do not take me as an Eli hater because I am far from that, but feel free to bring it with the arguments cause I'm feelin good today.
