Answering Some Questions About the Rookies

Hey BBV nation - this is my first fanpost, and as such, I wanted to take the opportunity to answer a couple questions that I've seen on the boards recently. I'm not sure if anyone addressed this, but anyhow...

1) Rookes can contact other veteran members of their respective teams. Whether the vets do anything in the form of a practice or training is another question, but I would think all of the players are doing whatever they can to prepare for the coming season. I haven't heard anything about Giants players specifically holding their own practice sessions with other players, but hopefully some of you can give some insight there.

2) The rookies that were drafted in the first round were able to meet with coaches and go over playbooks and such, but after that, everyone else was at the mercy of the lockout being restored, and as such, were not able to meet with team officials. HOWEVER, those players drafted in rounds 2-7 still have the ability to get the playbooks from the first round draft pick, which I'm assuming they did. The downside to this, obviously, is that they can't review the books with the coaching staff, but that's where the veterans will hopefully step in to answer any questions and go through the movements.

I'm convinced that the Giants staff went through the right motions and prepared for this to happen, since they do so many other things right. This doesn't mean the rookies will be ready for the upcoming season, but it should give them a chance to at least be a little prepared.
