Unbelievable

Didn’t want any of the OL or LB there. We address arguably our weakest area at the moment with a primo athlete and player with an awesome name. So fuckin sick.

Strikeouts are boring- Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.

never did I think this dude was there. No one expected him to be anywhere close.

People were saying he’s a very good player, but not really a top 10 player even tho he’d go that high.

At #19 he might be a bigger steal then Fairley at #13

Absolutley Shocked

I was expecting the Giants to take an offensive lineman probably the one from BC or Ingram however when the pick was announced I could’nt believe it. Every place I read had them going O-line or possibly Ingram if he was available because Bradshaw is a free agent and his fumbles.

Ross the returner

One way to get something out of him.

Great depth though – Ross. There are 3 CBs on the field a lot. One gets injured, Ross steps up.

I am one who has not writen him off yet. He may be the best 4th CB in the league.

I might pitch a fit but I won't put on my brakes. Stand in the Fire.

I came here

to say the same thing. I’m a husker fan and he’s one of the best we’ve had in a while. He does well straight man-2-man, but he also played in a defense that flooded the field with DBs.

by rzor on Apr 28, 2011 10:35 PM EDT up reply actions

Nebraska fan here as well...

…a family member won tickets to Super Bowl 42 in a drawing, and I got to go. (I’m not a Giants fan but I was certainly rooting for them against the Pats — a happy day for me.) I was wearing a Nebraska shirt. While there, I met two separate Giants fans who both loved the Huskers and had been to games in Lincoln. Hard not to think of those guys now, I’ll bet they’re both happy as clams.

I can hardly believe the Giants got Amukamara. As you know, it’s hard to overstate what a steal this is for the G-Men. I don’t think you’ll see many QBs throw in his direction once he gets his bearings in the NFL. He is Mr. Shutdown.

ESPN debunks some of the Blackmon chatter regarding Prince
NOTE: Biggest matchup problem was versus Justin Blackmon (Oklahoma State) in 2010 but Amukamara did not play as poorly as many seem to think. Blackmon pushed off on a 36-yard catch in 2nd QTR. Amukamara runs step-for-step with Blackmon on a debatable 2nd QTR pass interference penalty. And while Amukamara does get beaten for an 80-yard TD on a 2nd QTR flea-flicker, he shows recovery speed to get back into the play. From that point on, Blackmon was targeted three times versus Amukamara and caught one pass for three yards.

Man if we had two beast LB's we'd have the best D in the league.

Still might have the best D without a great backer!

Yeah

But it kills his draft stock, They talking 5th for him, even with the droppers, I doubt there is much in round 4, I might grab him better than a guy who can’t make the roster

we have him

Koets, Petrus, Seubert, O’hara. We’ll have a C out of this.

But there’s others. I like Tim Barnes, and he might be around in the 6th

What about that little Rodgers

I don’t know him, but he reminds me of Meggett

Jaquizz?

I think he’s very good. I don’t see the Giants drafting a 5"5 RB too high tho.

OLB & TE in the next rounds

Keep an eye on a OLB from OK. Beal. Runs great, big kid.Ayers may be gone by then and no need to trade up. Love to have Rudolph at TE but the kid from FIU, Housler can make plays down field, good hands, blocking not the best, but will give Eli another solid target.Need to add depth behind Boss as far as pass catcher goes.Plenty of solid RB’s coming. Daniel Thomas from K-State,Bradford from USC. WR from Boise,Pettis has potential for late round pick. Had to take Prince. Mayock on NFL network said Giants were being faithful to their board and doing the right thing….Just observation, but is ESPN’s coverage getting old? NFL network far superior.
