As one who is doing his best to be a comprehensive NFL historian, I know what the Maras have meant to the National Football League and I'm so glad that Mr. Mara is sitting in on negotiations.
I am encouraged by the words of Seattle Seahawks offensive guard Chester Pitts who says the first thing of substance about negotiations today saying both sides are trying really hard to get a deal done.
To me, it is not mere coincidence that such language comes when Mara decides to come to a meeting.
Now, I believe there will be an extension, just like five years ago, and we will be able to get things done and our beloved football will not be hindered in any way.
Just as in 2007, when Mara's illustrious G-Men saved the NFL from the ignominious Cheatriots by pulling out a thrilling victory, even so, Mara's presence at negotiations will prove to be the impetus of keeping this illustrious pastime we all enjoy going.
As always, GO BRONCOS, but again as always, the Giants are class acts and defenders of all that is right with the NFL.
God bless you guys and let's get this thing done!
