New York Giants Reserve/Future Contracts: DB Woodny Turenne

We've profiled 12 players signed to reserve/future contracts by the New York Giants. Without further ado, here's the 13th, defensive back Woodny Turrene.

Listed at 5-foot-11, 185 pounds, Turrene played college football at Louisville before going undrafted in 2009. The Chicago Bears gave him a shot in training camp, but he ended up on their practice squad in October.

Star-divide

Last September, Turrene was waived. The Giants signed him to their practice squad in November and then to a reserve/future contract in January.

With the Bears, Turrene's size and instincts impressed in training camps. One Bears beat writer even likened him to Green Bay Packers DB Al Harris. Given the fact that the Giants signed two other players to reserve/future contracts and the already crowded depth chart at the position, Turenne doesn't figure to be long for New York.

Chance of sticking around: Not Likely

He has alot of speed.....cann't teach that!!

This guy might seriously be the fastest guy on the roster! I’m a big UofL fan as well, Woodny transfered to the Louisville program from a Jr. college and Allegedly ran a 4.29! He actually played decent enough for two years but didnt get any recognition due mostly too poor coaching and a terrible defensive scheme. Woodny definitely has potential with fabulous speed and instinct skills. But needs time to develop technique and strenght. In my humble opinion he has a great chance of sticking.

I see 4.48 in the combine

Where did you get the 4.29 number?

40 Time: 4.48 40 Low: 4.39 40 High: 4.57 in 2009

All the Giants should play like Mark Bavaro.
Tom Quinn Must Go!
On second thought, let's not blame players or coaches, they are not responsible. The unsupportive fans are to blame.

We may have a lot of numbers at the position

But after the top 3, it’s pretty sketchy. If he’s got that kind of speed, I’d say he’s got a shot.
