Redskins' Brandon Banks OK After Stabbing

Stay connected for news and updates

Washington Redskins' kick returner Brandon Banks has been released from a Washington hospital after being stabbed early Saturday morning at a D.C. nightclub.

From the Washington Post:

Police reports say that Banks, who just completed his rookie season, and a companion were outside the club in Northwest around 3 a.m. and engaged in an argument with a third man. That individual attacked both Banks and his companion, whose identity is not known at this point. The suspect now is in custody. Banks was released after being treated, but his associate remains hospitalized and in serious condition, said the source with knowledge of the situation.

Banks is an exciting young return man at just 5-foot-7, 151 pounds. He averaged 25.1 yards per kick return and 11.3 yards per punt return as a rookie in 2010.

Fortunately, it sounds like Banks will be OK.

In another Redskins' note, defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth was charged with assault in a road-rage incident.
