Beating the Dallas Cowboys twice in the season's final four weeks and winning the NFC East title looks like the New York Giants best path to the playoffs. The Giants, though, are still in the thick of the wild-card chase as play begins today. That means there are a few games worth paying attention to today.
At 1 p.m. ET the 7-4 Chicago Bears are hosting the 4-7 Kansas City chiefs. This is a meeting of teams using backup quarterbacks and Giants fans need to hope that Tyler Palko or Kyle Orton can outplay Caleb Hanie and whoever else the Bears have. Chicago is one of the teams that looks like it might come back to the wild-card pack a bit in the season's final few weeks.
Also at 1 p.m. the 7-4 Atlanta Falcons are in Houston to take on the Texans. With the Texans down to rookie T.J. Yates at quarterback not much reason to be optimistic that 8-3 Houston will help out the Giants here.
While the Giants are playing the Green Bay Packers today, the NFC East-leading Cowboys will be in Arizona to face the 4-7 Cardinals. Sure would be nice of Antrel Rolle's old team to help the Giants out today.
In the Sunday night game, the New Orleans Saints face the Ndamukong Suh-less Detroit Lions. The 7-4 Lions are another team right in the wild-card mix with the Giants, so you have to root for Drew Brees and Co. to do to Detroit what they did to the Giants.
