I haven't really seen anyone make the comparison.

I have seen a lot of people say he has the potential to get to that level.

No matter what, I think he will always come up short on that comparison. He might become the best DE ever but just based on the position and the game… I don’t see how he could literally change the way the game is played like LT did.

He could however become every bit as disruptive a force on defense as LT was.

I'll never understand this

Why do some people insist on trying to make comparisons with players from different eras?

Not only that, but they don’t even play the same position! (similar, but not the same by any means)

Why can’t we just celebrate JPP for what he is: a tremendous athletic talent with the potential to be one of the best in the game at his position.

Personally I think it does a great disservice to both of them to try and make this comparison.

It’s an insult to LT and his career to compare one season of JPP football to years of dominance. LT for many is listed as one of top five players ever to play in the NFL so any comparisons is a reach at best.
Plus it’s a different position all together so if any comparison is to be made, it should be Strahan.
