Giants' Friday Injury Report: Bradshaw 'Doubtful,' Pierre-Paul 'Questionable'
The official injury report for the New York Giants on Friday was a lengthy one, and having the name Jason Pierre-Paul on it is an occurrence no one saw coming a couple of days ago.
Coach Tom Coughlin said Friday that Pierre-Paul will be a game-time decision with a possible concussion suffered this week in practice.
Coughlin said that Ahmad Bradshaw "has to do some improving," but that he will not need surgery and has not been ruled out for Sunday's game against the New England Patriots.
Here is your official Friday afternoon New York Giants' injury report.

Man, the hits just keep on comin'.
Really hope that JPP and at least one of the doubtful guys can make it.
Last Week
Every article was the “Giants healthy after the bye” one game against a winless team we are the walking wounded. It is really starting to piss me off.
JPP & Nicks
Give me the pass rush and all of Eli’s receivers, and I’ll take my chances against any team in the league.
I got banned from Jests Blog for saying Chad Henne has better stats than Mark Sanchez. And they think they're the big brothers in this town? LMAO try again little sisters!

And..the Patriot put their entire 53 man roster on the injury report..
I love mind games..

The one guarantee I can give amongst the questionables is
Shaun Ellis won’t be playing at LDE. Think the rest are all probable, except maybe BJGE who’s toe might be given a week a rest so the rookie RBs and Faulk/Woodhead can get snaps.
It is what it is
so we're only missing
our best running back and our best receiver (both by a mile). Bring on the shootout!

Dont forget our starting C
on an OL that was already struggling. Oh, and one of our best defensive players thats in the top 5 in sacks.
Yeah, that's huge.
Baas appears to have already been struggling, but now assumingly you have to turn to a rookie to protect Eli’s face. Plus there’s the most important duty of a center; snapping the ball dozens of times without causing a fumble.
It is what it is
boothe can handle the C
im not worried about him, especially after how he played in that buffalo game
Nobody wins the Superblow in November.
Talk is Cheap! Play the Game!
You can't spell Elite without ELI.
wilfork / haynesworth
on Boothe is a horrific mismatch.
Hopefully he can snap the ball and spin to block them with his ass

6 Giants were hurt in the writing of this email...
..see what happen was, one of our LB was trying to unplug a flash drive without properly ejecting it and was blasted into one of our RB. Then one our CB and WRs got tangled up in the wireless keyboard and mouse. That lead to 2 of our OL having their socks knocked off over watching this.
We’ve now resorted to slow walk throughs only while wearing Giant Sumo Suits
that's crazy

You had to know this was comming with this team
Giants just can’t stay healthy ever since TC has been here this team is always in bad shpape injury wise and this looks like the 06 season which was lost due to injuries. Healthy after the bye now destoryed with injureis. Can’t win games without this many quality players on the shelf, it might get ugly Sunday.
Im not that sure
but wasn’t this the case with Fassel too. I remember something about TC saying the “injuries are a cancer” or something like that.

03 that 4-12 year lots of injuries
so I think thats what TC was reffering to with that injury comment in his oppening press conference.
I’m not blaming TC it just seems like over the past few years this team gets killed with injuries, hell last season was a “lucky” year when it came to injuries for this team. Maybe it’s cause I’m on sites like this more often during the week than I was before so I’m more informed about the injuries but man before 05 I don’t remember this many season ending injuries and signing guys off the street becasue we are so desimated.
Who knows but its just discouraging. You want to get excited about a big game but its really hard when you’re team is going into games with guys you pulled off the street or you have safteys playing CB or back up guards playing center.
Welcome aboard the good ship IR

I think Reese
Would be more to blame for our injury problems. Coughlin doesn’t draft the players. And some players simply are injury prone, while others are durable.
As for this week, I don’t see it as too bad.
Insert Tuck. Out goes Pierre-Paul.
Insert Manningham. Out goes Nicks. Manningham is not Nicks, but him having a good game last week certainly has me feeling better about this week. Also, for those of you clamoring for Barden to get his chance to shine, this should really be it right here. If Nicks doesn’t play then I don’t see how Barden won’t get a significant number of snaps.
Jacobs has to put on his big man cape and carry the load. I would guess that even if Bradshaw is active, he will be very limited ( 5-10 carries or so).
Just another day in the life of a Giants fan. And with that, we can’t ignore one fact: Eli Manning is healthy, as always.
How's Tuck been since coming back from injury?
Given the loss of your starting center I wouldn’t risk a jinx by saying “Eli Manning is healthy, as always”. What’s the depth at center like?
It is what it is
There's no way you can blame Reese

earth-shattering stuff here Max…
but at least AB is durable and carry the load…errr…

Our old starting center missed plenty of games last year.
Plus, he wasn’t very good in the games he played in.

Indeed
Simple explanation for why the person scouting the player might be more responsible for his injuries than the head coach. Addressing someone else’s comments.
Bradshaw has been playing with essentially the same injury throughout his career. Given his success anyway, I’d call him durable. What’s your point anyway? That Brandon Jacobs is not playing poorly because Bradshaw broke a bone in his foot? When has Jacobs been durable? I hope he plays well, but I don’t get it. If you want to take shots, I’ll literally take the time to break down every little stupid thing that you say and make you look foolish.
I guess I got a kick outta it?
you’ll have to forgive me b/c i’m about to go out so i’m half in the bag as it is, but if you want to break down what Is say…you have every right to do so…after all,.it’s for public consumption.
TeamJPP
We're ignoring the fact that Bradshaw
was taken in the 7th round. Even given his injury concerns, I’d still say that was a hell of a pick.
I'd say that the guy who runs and designs the practices, the players pushing themselves and the nature of the game
When AB was drafted I don’t remember hearing about injury concerns. Tuck was an injury risk, but the knee hasn’t been his problem over the last few years.
The only thing logical thing I can come up with. We tend towards vets, they tend to be older, older guys break down more. But if you go to many other teams they will reference a slew of their own injuries.
It’s already a wrap… might as well not show up tomorrow.

Because you can't go into a game with 52 players or even 53.

Earlier this year NIcks purchased a hyperbaric chamber...
in fact he specifically said it was for his hamstrings….
clearly it’s not preventing injuries…but let’s see how quickly it can heal them
TeamJPP
maybe he has to justify the purchase to his girlfriend
She was probably pissed when he bought it so he gave her a line of shit about “if I ever hurt my hamstring…” and the sort. She rolls her eyes and says “well, I’ll give you two weeks and if you have yet to hurt your hamstring then it’s going back”

He looked stellar in that preseason game.
It is what it is
7 guys are inactive out of 53
So if Baas can’t go you must keep Cordle. You must also keep Petrus or Brewer. So who’s the Jumbo tight end? Also, you’re a cornerback short so you hope and pray Prince can go, and the extra roster spot goes to Barden. This would be a really good time for Jacobs, Diehl, Jernigan and ( oh, my goodness) Beckum to come up big. I swear I have not been drinking the Kool-Aid but I see Beckum making a successful fourth down catch and Coach Coughlin saying on Monday " well, Beckum is Beckum."
This is what I have to say about our injury list:

The inactives tell the story
This must be posted by 1600 Saturday. If Scott is NOT on the list, then we may go with 4 running backs to make Bradshaw a mystery. Count on Baas, Andrews and Brewer to be inactive, I suspect Nicks will be as well. Prince has been there every week, maybe not this week. The rest of the list will be made up based on Saturday midday best guesses.Does Hynoski get inactivated to keep the extra RB? How deep does your defensive backfield need to be? Plenty o’ mind games here.
And another thing!
While an early thread today mentioned Underdog and Mighty Mouse ( both classics) I know darn well you guys watched Tom Terriffic and Manfred the Wonder Dog. They just didn’t happen on Saturday— that was weekday mornings on Captain Kangaroo.

Wait..Nicks isn't gonna play? He's honestly our only chance.
He opens up the pass game because he gets double teamed. We need him.

The number of injuries is disappointing to this Pats fan.
If you’re a fan of the game you want to see the best go at it. I doubt Nicks/Bradshaw/Baas play, and that’s huge to the Giants offense. Baas I think is probably even more significant than Nicks given that, as Yeats once said of the centre not holding, “things fall apart”. Given the NYG OLine’s level of play, maybe Coughlin is rolling the dice on a chance to give it a reboot. If he is rolling the dice he’s gambling with his QB’s health. At the end of the day, damage at the OLine can be far more detrimental than damage upfield. Manningham and Cruz are both stellar players and I’m sure they got more back there to be the 3rd or 4th guy. But if Eli doesn’t even have a chance to pass the ball? If he’s constantly under pressure? That’s worse for a passing game.
It is what it is
Well..we're in for one hell of a game..
That is why we love this sport so much..It just doesn’t get any better than this..
"When I was a boy and I had no sense..I got my pecker caught in an electric fence..Well it curled my hair, tickled my balls and made me shit in my overalls..."
I think you are reading way too much into the Baas injury
Boothe can and has matched his production when he has been in the OL lineup. I really do not think the Patriots will generate much of a pass rush no matter who is on the Oline.

I don't know,
I’m fully aware of the pass-defense, but I think our last game exposed a lot of the problems we had especially on the strong-side. Adjustments seem inevitable and the Giants OLine seems to be in turmoil. If they can’t run they can only pass and hope to get the ball out in 2.5-3 seconds.
It is what it is
Giants Oline gave Eli about 3 hours of protection on each pass play last week
and it has improved every week since week 3. The running game is where the Oline has struggled. The Giants Oline has been improving in pass protection and the Patriots Oline has been regressing in pass protection since the beginning of the year. So what adjective should we call your Oline if ours is in turmoil? Also Baas has been out this year before and our Oline performed better without him.

nah
this actually fits to the Giants advantage. The Patriots are best when they can prepare for something they’ve seen. When you do something completely different, they can’t do anything. Maybe Barden is the secret weapon, tho I guess we’re gonna have to find out if there’s really something he can do that Hakeem can’t.
Nicks is an absolutely beast, but the Giants WRs are definitely capable of producing in his place at least for one game. Also there’s that Eli Manning guy.
