When will Tiki Barber learn how to do something other than use public forums to bash Tom Coughlin? Maybe never, which is sad since he has no credibility on the subject of the Giants' coach.

he doesn't bash Coughlin

it’s actually a good read. he’s sticking up for jacobs and the o-line when they’re performance was called pathetic. it should be kept in the clubhouse only. I don’t particularly agree but it wasn’t a bad article at all….

tiki doesnt need to stick up for anyone

coughlin said “We had 29 yards rushing, which is about as pathetic as you can get," he didnt call out one single person. he didnt say jacobs was pathetic. this is tiki trying to start sh*t once again. the bottom line is that, coughlin was right. the rushing game was pathetic. ‘We’ had 29 yards rushing” from the running backs to the line to the coaches, “We” is the key word. what is he gonna say to the media? everything was fine, no probs, nothing to see here… thats a blatent lie.
as for tiki trying to call out Tom’s stance on injuries, another low blow. i’m pretty sure we are all in agreement that Tom meant guys trying to milk an injury and not toughing out some everyday twists, tweaks and pulls, which is a cancer on a team. guys on IR for a legitimate reason like torn acl’s and such, are not what he was talking about. tiki knows this, but again, trying to start sh*t. this was a pathetic article from someone desperate for any attention. just like he’s always been.

obviously if he's caling the performance pathetic

he’s calling out the players publicly. seriously there’s not a lot of people responsible for running plays. I mean Eli is only responsible for passing, there’s a select few that Coughlin’s statement applies to.

"We" means the whole team

not just brandon jacobs. this is a team statement saying the rushing game as a whole was pathetic. from the running backs to the o-line, fullbacks, blocking tight ends, coaches and gameplan. Tom isnt singling out Jacobs as the reason they only gained 29 yds. coaches do this all the time in press conferences.
For example: A statement like “we stunk on third down. 1 for 11 is about as pathetic as you can get” doesnt specifically call out the quarterback (even if he was 1 for 8 passing on 3rd downs) doesnt call out a certain running back eventhough he couldnt get a yard in a key situation, its a team statement. if he specifically said brandon jacobs was pathetic i would agree about the whole calling out players publicly thing. tiki is trying to make something outta nothing. jacobs and the o-line doesnt need tiki sticking up for them.

Tiki is a d-bag

but Tom needs to go, regardless.

Sometimes a douche bag can speak some truth (insert joke here)

But seriously, just because Tiki is a dick doesn’t mean Coughlin doesn’t deserve the critique.
Coughlin’s Giant’s have a sick pattern of early success and later failure. 2007 was VERY close to following that scenario until the come back in the Buffalo game. So, pretty much, as we’ve spoken about endlessly, Coughlin’s teams start fast then fade, year in, year out. It’s a fact that cannot be contested. Thank you for 2007 Tom. Thank you for some very exciting games and seasons. Time to retire. (And yes, he has an agenda, every one in his position does, it goes with the job. Tiki isn’t speaking any untruths — despite his dickness.)

Ah

I say fire everyone but coughlin no matter how we end up this yr name one coach thats free that you would take over him the way i look at we were a very good team til training camp came and we were only set up for such a collapse with our schedule we still can and hopefully do get in if our d starts playing big if but fewells imo is just as good as sheridian he needs to go

by Giants36 on Nov 29, 2011 9:12 PM EST via mobile reply actions

can't fire everyone but tom

if the ship is sinking, the captain may be to blame, not just the firstmates. as far as his replacement, it’s probably somebody who we don’t even know yet. did anyone know what Mike Tomlin was capable of, til someone gave him the keys to the ship?

Tiki is a loser

He is still going back 5 years.

He has no ring while TC has one.

He has no ring, wife, TV spot or even a credible job.

Does this mean we’re going to the Super Bowl again? Please?

Is it too early to sign Cowher?

… Bc I’m serious we need a change of culture. Come on I love Coughlin don’t get me wrong, but enough is enough…. O but we have a tough schedule, listen great coaches and legendary teams don’t make excuses. We need a new younger face, given Cowher is older now but he’s still a players coach who isn’t afraid of taking chances with trick plays, and knows how to blitz and run the ball all game. Our Offense is as vanilla as Kevin Gilbride, most giants fans can analyze our offensive plays just as quick as other professional defenses I mean that’s saying something… Out with the old if this season doesn’t take a drastic turn this next month, and in with the new; that also means saying bye bye to manningham and ross this offseason if they demand too much money for their inconsistent play

P.S. Cowher will bring more attitude and intensity to his players than Coughlin ever has, and since Cowher’s so close with our owners is the only reason I think we have a shot of getting him out of retirement. He has been waiting patiently to be a Giant and the time is coming for him to be the General of our Big Blue Nation

Cower Sucks

I lived in Pittsburgh for 4 years and I can tell you he is no better than TC. Maybe we need a new coach but I warn you you will be totally disenthralled with Cowe by year 2 and wishing for the old regime.

It could be worse. I could be a Jets fan.

by Madhops on Nov 29, 2011 10:42 PM EST via mobile up reply actions

Agree.

And the thing that no one brings up is that this idea of bringing back the old coach with former days of glory has not worked in any scenario in which it’s been tried. Parcells fizzled in Dallas (while also help build a solid team through the draft, i’ll give him that), Gibbs failed in Washington the second time around, same with Shanahan. And why? Because the game passes them by. In pro football, style of play, formations, schemes, etc. change every five seconds, let alone five years. So do the player’s attitudes and coachability, and maybe that’s the problem with Coughlin as well. Let’s not make the mistake of ushering one old school coach out the door to welcome in another version of that guy. No on Cowher.

by mtcl05 on Nov 29, 2011 11:08 PM EST up reply actions

Most coaches that return

return because they miss the game. They often return to a very bad team. Often without a QB. This team has a great QB. Team with great QBs rarely fire their coach. Brady and BB are together 10+ years. Tom drags this team down. He’s a great game manager. He’s a terrible HC.

Thanks Tiki,

Now I feel like I can rally behind Coughlin again

Details of the operations of an interstate dog fighting ring were revealed, with some portions involving drugs and gambling. Gruesome details involving abuse, torture and execution of under-performing dogs ... He admitted to being involved in the destruction of 6–8 dogs, by hanging or drowning...

Tiki = pathetic

When the Giants are 6-2 not a peep from this troll, the minute things don’t look good here comes Tiki the “journalist” and oh yeah now “Giant fan” LOL.

Personally I like TC, I’m not sure if he survives the season or not, but nothing last’s forever and I will always like TC and remember the championship he got us. Tiki, meh he is now just a guy who played for the Giants to me and everytime he opens his mouth he looks smaller as a person.

And you should be right behind him

Actually I do think that Tiki has some credibility in having played for TC and still in touch with players. Tiki did not care for TC when he played for him. No biggie, TC probably did not care much for him either. Who cares. Let’s just finish 8-8 and get ready for next year. TC will still be here. PF will not be

sometimes

the truth hurts

Tiki didn’t reveal anything earth shattering. There’s two ways to read the comments about the injuries. Be careful what you ask for. In 2004. TC criticized Fassell. Now TC has the same problems. The amount of injuries on the Giants the last few seasons are staggering. Something is wrong. We either have the worst luck. I’m not blaming Tom for the injuries. It’s just crazy.

Second, the Giants are soft especially on defense. This team has no fire. No emotion.
