If I were Jerry Reese...

I would be banging my head against the wall and thinking to myself, "What can be done today to salvage this season?" Let's face it everyone, this season is on life support. It is sitting on a ventilator, pumped full of sedatives, and wasting away. Reese needs to be the doctor that comes in and does something to bring it back to life, cause the coaches clearly cannot.

First things first, the o-line needs immediate help if we want our season to live. The hour is probably too late to find someone to fill in on the offensive line. Then again, anything is better than what we saw last night. Finding a free agent tackle and/or guard right now probably will not be better than our starters or depth. That does not mean not to look. Bring people in for workouts. If they look good, awesome. If not, hopefully it lights a fire under the butts of our current line.

Second, smack Coughlin upside the head, punch Fewell in the face, and poke Gilbride in the eye. Why? Cause they looked like the 3 stooges. Your coaching staff has to adapt. It seemed Fewell had no idee what to do last night. Do I run zone? Nope, got torched. Do I run man? Nope, got torched. I know, I will rush 2 and drop 9 into coverage. No, PF, you come up with some crazy blitz scheme or something. If it doesn't work, at least you tried. Only rushing 3 DOES NOT work! I am not in favor of firing coaching staffs mid-season, cause that can kill a season. But, I am warming up to the idea of firing Fewell to set an example. I have been a HUGE opponent to Gilbride. I cannot stand his play calling or scheme, yet I am asking for Fewell's head right now. I think Coughlin just doesn't have anything left in the tank. His time may have run out, but I would rather see him finish the year and go out the proper way.

Third, one or two more losses, especially in division and conference, and the plug will get pulled on the season. At that point, make sure the coaching staff gets playing time to the younger guys, while saving the older, brittle ones from injury. Then, start a list for the draft. My list would read this for the draft: 1. OL, 2. LB, 3. OL, 4. TE, 5. OL, 6. RB, 7. S. For FA, I would go after the biggest, meanest, nastiest OL available. Maybe another veteran LB.

I do not envy JR today. There are tons of questions with no answers. I am not getting on JR's case right now. I love JPP, Amukamara, Cruz, Nicks, who are all JR's guys. He now needs to address the coaching flaws.

He needs to be the doctor now for this season. Cause right now, I hear the beeps on the cardiac machine of this season. Pretty soon, going down this course, it will flatline.
