Hate to disagree with the fearless leader, but I did the math weeks ago.
To win the division, the Giants have to sweep the Cowboys on their way to winning four more.
2 wins vs. Cowboys + 2 other wins (ANY 2!) = we win the division. Period.
I mean, look at the Eagles ... PLEASE! (Sorry, channeling my inner Henny Youngman)
They felt in it until yesterday, at 4-6, and we're counting us out now, at 6-4? Listen to this: If we LOSE the next TWO, and WIN the last four, we win the division. End of story.
It would be a boost to win -- it would be one of our four that we need. Last week could have been one of the four.
Next week would be one of the four. The Jets and Skins would be two of the four.
If we don't sweep the cowboys, we have a tough row to hoe. We'll lose control of our destiny and need to finish with a better record, which will be tough over the other 4 games (NYJ/WAS/GB/NO).
The point of all this is, please don't be a bunch of hysterical lemmings if we lose tonight. we need to win 2 of 4 non-dallas games.
Again: We can lose tonight, AND lose next week, to go to 6-6. The Cowgirls can WIN next week and go to 8-4.
And we can still win out to both finish 10-6 and hold the tiebreaker.
A little rationality people.
Now let's go beat the Aints!
If you are not a hysterical crybaby bandwagon jumper-offer, please feel free to use this as a game thread -- no blimps here! p.s. Ed or Brian, drop me a line if that's not kosher for whatever reason.
