Bill Parcells Among 2012 Pro Football Hall Of Fame Semifinalists
Former New York Giants coach Bill Parcells headlines the list of 26 semifinalists nominated for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2012. Former Giants general manager George Young is also on the list.
Oddly, Parcells is considered a first-year eligible candidate despite having been a Hall of Fame finalist in both 2001 and 2002 before returning to the sidelines to coach the Dallas Cowboys.
Check the list after the jump and see who you think deserves to be part of the Class of 2012.

Awesome
Parcells lives only a mile or so down the road from me during the off season in Saratoga Springs NY. He is a class act and never opposed to talking to “neighbor” for a few moments when you run into him. Long live the Tuna!
Glad to see George Young on the list as well. Helped to resurect the team when it was at its lowest point.
I got a GIF for that!

Agree..Parcells is my all-time favorite coach...It's Tuna time!!!
And also yes George Young turned this franchise around..We can piss and moan about them but they have been competitive ever since…Its all due to Young and Parcells..

I love Saratoga
one of my favorite places.

Yeah beautiful place..
Used to go there every August for the horses races and Golf..That public golf course..if it is still public..was awesome..We’d stay three days…and it was funny because we’d get plowed under and when we talked about what we wanted to do, my one buddy would holler: “I want to go see the laked nadies !!!”…

Bill Parcells - obviously
These should really be no-brainers
Cris Carter
Roger Craig
Kevin Greene
Andre Reed
Steve Atwater

Just ordered FatHeads for all available Giants. Now I have something to aim at when punching holes in my wall.
I don't see Bomar on this so-called "list"
Somebody is gonna get hurt.

Those are all the sexy picks
But Willie Roaf and Will Shields need to get in some day… REmember when Kansas City had Eddie Kennison and Johnie Morton as their starting wide outs? and basically any RB who they put back there was goodo for 1700 yards a season….they had gonzo too but….Wow, their size and athleticism is rare… Jason peters, is the only LT that I can think of that comes close to Shields and his pure ability to be a road grader and an athletic tackle too…Shields did it for 13 years though…HOF easy

I agree completely
They both definitely deserve to be inducted. Without a doubt.

Bill Parcells
I’m not certain he’s a certainty. I believe he’s somewhat tarnished his image. I hope I’m wrong.

I love the Tuna.
He was the first coach I’ve ever watched on the sideline as a Cowboys fan. Something we can both agree on is this guy changes franchises around, and in the right direction too.
Realist.
A cowboy fanAND a yankee fan
gee, never seen that around here!!!! Let me guess….Lakers?
JoeD AKA The Voice Of Reason
haha you want a real shocker?
These would be the teams I would root for besides NY Football Giants:
Dallas Mavericks
Texas Rangers
Dallas Stars
New York Football Giants Zindabad!
Let's Go Giants!
Back in the 90's when those two teams were reeling off titles I was in diapers.
Zero memory of the “good old days.”
Realist.
NOt only that
he started watching the Cowboys when Parcells became their coach . .. wow thats pretty obvious
(heat actually)
But wait you haven’t seen good ol’ Jeterian 2 before?
Self-praise is for losers. Be a winner. Stand for something. Always have class, and be humble.
-John Madden
[Jake Ballard] has 4 speeds actually:
Stop→Slow→Truck (he shifts into that when its time to carry 4 defenders for another 4 yards)→LEAP!
-Raptor 22
Gee, I wonder if Parcells would let Boley run his mouth, or his team come out and be completely
embarrassed in their own house for four years? Just taking a wild guess, but I’d say not. How far we’ve fallen. Sad, really. Also gotta wonder if he’d allow his O line to become a steaming pile, or field a linebacking corp we’ve dealt with the last four. Again, I’d guess not.
thank GOD jerry jones chose T.O. over Parcells
Parcells slowly but surely turned that franchise around and as soon as he left, it peaked, and slowly went down hill, down to the mediocrity it has had since the late 90s….. Then Parcells went onto build Miami into a playoff team, only to have it go back to mediocrity when he handed over the reigns.
Much respect to Parcells..He’s very old school and one of the good guys. Football genius
JoeD AKA The Voice Of Reason
Same thing with the Jets

All of Dallas's talent was brought in on his watch
Ware, Ratliff, Newman, Witten, Romo . . . wish he’d never had gone there.
Thank you Coach Parcells
…for the best Giants run ever. LT, Bavaro, Simms, Carson….wow.
I feel bad for my kid. He’ll never see the Miracle on Ice, he’ll never see a Giants’ defense like the 86 team, and he’ll never have a President like the Gipper.
Oh, and he’ll probably never see another Ranger Stanley Cup but there is at least a chance of that.
dude
there will be amazing NY sports achievements in the near future and hopefully much better presidents in your son’s life

Wish I could have watched the Parcells coached teams
But from the stories I heard, it sounds like he really deserves this.

That would blow my mind… this guy is in the same breath as Vince Lombardi and Tom Landry

One thing that bugs me is when people get inducted after they are dead..
What the hell good is that?..You think they give a shit after they are dead?..It ain’t like they’ll be able to come back for a special appearance to give a speech..They are dead for chrissakes…

and I hope he does, anyone up for the Tuna?
He won't ever coach again...

Though in fairness
Between the two of em, Coughlin is more likely to have a heart attack on the sidelines.
