New York Giants News And Notes: Sunday Reading Material

Good morning, New York Giants fans! Here are your Sunday morning Giants-related news and notes.

Vick, Maclin downgraded to out

The Eagles ruled out QB Michael Vick (two broken ribs) and WR Jeremy Maclin (hamstring/shoulder) Saturday. Both were listed as questionable Friday, but were not expected to play.

Neither Vick nor Maclin will travel with the Eagles. Vince Young is expected to start in place of Vick. Meanwhile, former Giant Steve Smith likely will see more playing time in place of Maclin. Smith had his best game as an Eagle last week (5 catches for 47 yards) against Arizona in place of the suspended DeSean Jackson.

Eagles CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (ankle) had already been ruled out of the game.

waking up to some asshole commercial screaming isn’t the best way to have her start the day when it’s the last week of NASCAR and the GIANTS don’t plan til 8:30

(now that I read that; she probably wasn’t gonna roll over and give me a great big kiss when I finally stagger into the bedroom tonight anyways!!

But it still made for a shitty start to the day for everyone though!)

One win in seven tries….I hope that is taped up in the locker room somewhere! This team is owed something bigtime! Keep focus, its about you not them! Finish this!!!!

hmm

Its not a given that we will win but with maclin and vick being out that’s two less weapons to worry about. Just have to watch out for the ocasional deep shot to jackson but we should expect a lot of mccoy and celek, I don’t think we will see to many down the field throws steve smith couldn’t run by me in man to man coverage lol

beware a wounded bird

like last years 2nd cowboy game we were set to put a wounded team out of its misery and they managed to put us into a misery which lasted through the dec and puts us out of the playoffs. Not saying we don’t win. Not saying we do. Just saying we should not take this team, wounded as they are, lightly. Just like I said it was silly for us to game plan against Gore when it was strategically perfect for the niners to come out passing. As they did.
We need this game and the next (I do think we can beat the Saints). The cowboys games will be brutal — they are a good and dangerous team folks. We need this, now.

by ZILLAG on Nov 20, 2011 9:31 AM EST reply actions

Agreed, on paper, even minus the weapons out today...

the Eagles would have been considered a contender for the top spot in the division. They haven’t played well as a team, have weak spots and are missing pieces, but they aren’t helpless or defenseless, and one of these weeks, (hopefully not today), they’re going to put it together and blow someone away. The Giants win this game if they show up and bring their “A” game. If they try and mail it in, like they often have with a struggling opponent, they can, and may well be had. I think we’ll know early if they’ve shown up, and if so, I think they win, maybe big. If not, it may be a somber January again.

vs Dallas they put it together

I’m hoping they are in an emotional funk right now in which they realize there season is probabbly over and they just don’t care kinda like Dallas last year vs us in Big D then GB. They are due to get blown out before they start playing with pride I’m hoping thats the point they are at now. Maybe we catch them mourning tonight and ready to quit.

i want to see

Kafka by the 3rd quarter… jump all over the Eagles and put your foot on their throats (figuratively so not to get a 15 yard penalty)

by Slappinfaces on Nov 20, 2011 10:11 AM EST reply actions

as the game finally approaches

i am more and more WORRIED AND CONCERNED. the giants are all set up to blow this game.
it would be such a shame if they let it all slip away again.

Don't worry

I’m not making any optimistic predictions this week. That’s a good thing. It’’s a sure bet. That’s all I’m gonna say.

For some reason I'm not too worried.

This just seems like the kind of situation where the Eagle players turn on each other at the first sign of adversity.

Toomer just dumped on Sanchez

You’d think he would put it more eloquently, but I’m glad he didn’t!

"The Well Dressed" may not be on the Sanchise's Christmas Card List this year...

Then again, Sanchez may wait until January when he’ll have nothing to do this year except edit that list.
