Now, I've been thinking about this a bit, and in general, media coverage of the Giants is garbage. If the Giants win, it's by some stroke of luck, or the other team just fell apart. If the Giants lose, we get the "I told you so" from the media.
The flaws are obvious in the Pats' defense. That said, their record still indicates a good football team, and a good offense to make up for that. Still, I've watched the Steelers leap to the front of the pack with a win over the Patriots last week. After being slammed by the same people weeks earlier, the Steelers are suddenly flawless, and unstoppable force that had just momentarily lost its way.
Should the Giants win on Sunday, I bet we will finally see that the Pats are not as good as we thought they were, which, if you watch their games throughout the season, their holes have been covered up by Tom Brady and that offense since week one.
The Giants, with a win on Sunday, should remain a mediocre football team, with a quarterback who sometimes gets lucky and does not trip over his own feet. I'm saying it now. This is about what we will get if we win.
I'm saying it now so that when I'm mad about it next week, I can say to myself, "I told you so."
