Turning Point

I know that there were a lot of huge turning points in the game yesterday, with probably the biggest being Eli's second interception. The others were the first INT, the onside kick, the oh-so-close MM fingertip miss and the final 4th down batted pass.  But there was another subtle turning point that really did the Giants in.

To me, the play that really may have turned the game and flipped the outcome was the outrageous offsides penalty on the Giants immediately before the niners got their first TD. It was third and four with motion going from the 49ers left to right.  Then the TE to the right steps back to go in motion and we (JPP?) jump offsides and the 49ers get a first down and score on the next play.

That was a horrendous, ridiculous call. The TE clearly simulated the start of a play and that drew us offsides. Coughlin was going crazy, the Giants were pointing towards the TE and the cowardly zebras called it against us. REALLY!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! Such a BS call.  It resulted in an easy third down conversion deep in our territory. They scored twice in the next minute.

Had it been called correctly, it would have been third and nine with a chance for a stop or a TO.

I know it is a minor call in the scheme of things, but it was huge and I am still not over it. I guess that you can tell...
