New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin today confirmed that running back Ahmad Bradshaw (foot) will not play Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. Rookie Jerrel Jernigan, who suffered a hip injury on a kickoff return Sunday against the New England Patriots, will also be out Sunday.
Coughlin said that wide receiver Hakeem Nicks, who missed the New England game with a hamstring injury, will be a game-time decision this week. Coughlin said Nicks "did okay" during Friday's practice. Nicks will officially be listed as questionable.
Coughlin also said Friday that rookie middle linebacker Greg Jones, whose playing time has varied depending on the style of the opponents the Giants have faced, is likely to see more snaps this week against the run-first 49ers.
"He hasn't had many snaps because of the personnel that we have been facing the majority of the time but this is a regular personnel setup and he will have an opportunity to play more," Coughlin said. "I think he is equipped and that is why he is in there."
