Giant Changes on the Bye Week
I am pretty happy that the Giants are heading into a week of rest on top of the division (with Miami at home in week 8) and should be playing meaningful football through December. Still with a brutal schedule from weeks 9-17 here are 3 things I would love to see them do over the next 14 days.
1) Get healthy! Actually committing to the run and grinding out 30+ carries yesterday paid off. If our O-Line can get healthy and we can sprinkle in a Prince and a Pharaoh to the lineup down the stretch it could be the difference between a division title or staying home. (By the way anyone else thinking Boothe takes over for Diehl when Snee comes back?)
2) Put in a gadget play! The Giants actually have a couple of rookies with speed in Scott and Jernigan. I would love to see them come up with a way to get these guys in space. Jernigan can run the Wildcat (he did in college) and Scott starting in the backfield and going in motion to be picked up by a LB are just 2 ideas. Bottom line is I wouldn't mind one of these guys getting a chance to swing for the fence in the coming weeks.
3) Trade for Anthony Fasano! This is not to dismiss Jake Ballard. The TE position is going to be huge vs. the Eagles, Jets, Cowboys and Pats. Give me a good run blocker and above average receiver to complement Ballard through the end of the season. Plus I would love to have some depth just in case. Overall I think it would upgrade our talent at the position. (I would give up a 5 or 6 for him nothing more.)
This is just my wish list. Overall I'm happy with where the team stands right now, but given the brutal schedule down the stretch we will have to be even better to make the playoffs. This division is ours to take but it is going to be a tough road to get there.

I would give up a fifth for him.
And I have heard the rumors as well. Do you know why the Fins may want to trade him?
I love the idea of a gadget play. It gives the defense something else to prepare for, at a minimum.
Even if it is a direct snap to Scott or something like while Eli fakes to be walking towards the sideline as if he will be calling a TO.
A traditional flea-flicker is always a crowd pleaser as well. They work fairly often, too.
If I am being negative, please don't let it fool you, I am an optimist at heart and I can prove it.

the Giants TEs have been just as productive as Boss
Fasano will not be an upgrade. By the time he learns the playbook it’ll be two weeks in. By the time he’s on the same page with Eli it’ll be another 2-3 weeks.
He’s really no better then Ballard or Pascoe.
Last night, a comedian died in New York. Somebody knows why. Somebody knows
This is true, but
in 4-5 weeks it will be crunch time. If Fasano could improve the production out of the TE position, great. As long as he is not too expensive (draft pick and $).
But it’s not happening anyway, I realize this, and I’m fine with that. Just some fun speculation.

I think this will be Coughlin's last year either way
I was thinking this will be Coughlin’s last year, he’s getting older and even if he wins the SB, he will go out like Vermeil. The Mara family is too close to Bill Cowher (they’re related to the Rooney family by marriage) to wait for Cowher to go somewhere else.
