Chad Jones
haven't seen if anyone has reported this on here but this is truly amazing in my mind...
Giants S/LB Chad Jones (fractured tibia, fibula) will be timed in a 40-yard dash Wednesday. It will be the first 40 Jones has run since the devastating June 2010 car accident that nearly left him without a left leg. Jones is reportedly running 10-yard splits faster than the ones he turned in at his NFL Combine workout, and the "belief" is he should be able to match or exceed his Combine 40 time of 4.57 by the spring. He should at least compete for a roster spot with the Giants next summer, something that didn't seem possible 16 months ago. Oct 1 - 9:37 AM

Not as inspiring or amazing as Michael Vick
but definitely still up there.
A wise man once said "never postpone to tomorrow what can be done the day after tomorrow. Except DFAing Mathis. Do that shit now, plz."

In the off chance it wasn’t, shame on you Casey.

No doubt.
Michael Vicktim is the most amazing story in the history of sports.
Don’t you know they are going to make a movie about the story of his life? It will garner mass appeal across all demographics, cause, you know, everybody hates dogs.
If I am being negative please, don't let it fool you, I am an optimist at heart and I can prove it.

was wondering if anyone knows this...
i know chad is not on the roster but is he considered a NY giant?…do they own the rights to him as a player or is he a free agent
Comin' up next on The Violence Channel: An all-new "Ow, My Balls!"
The years passed, mankind became stupider at a frightening rate. Some had high hopes the genetic engineering would correct this trend in evolution, but sadly the greatest minds and resources where focused on conquering hair loss and prolonging erections.
Idk
But the Giants have been there for him, even though he hasn’t played one down for us. I’d be surprised if he ended up anywhere other than Big Blue. That being said, if he does wind up somewhere else, I wish him the best of luck anyway. Good luck Chad!!!
he's theirs.
They have exclusive rights. They drafted him, and he’s been on IR ever since.
Details of the operations of an interstate dog fighting ring were revealed, with some portions involving drugs and gambling. Gruesome details involving abuse, torture and execution of under-performing dogs ... He admitted to being involved in the destruction of 6–8 dogs, by hanging or drowning...

Haven't they been paying his contract and for rehab too
It’s already a wrap… might as well not show up tomorrow.

SEPT 25 - Giants 29 - Eagles 16
They have
Jones was one of the very first rookies (of any round) to sign that year. Good thing too (although, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Giants still covered everything even if he wasn’t under contract).
I was saying all along that it would be folly to bet against him. He is an incredible athlete: 2 sport champion, and he was considered the best athlete on his team when he was drafted… same team as Patrick Peterson was on. Also with a young daughter to support he was DRIVEN.
He's a Giant
The Giants never waived him or gave up their rights to him.
I’m a very big Chad Jones fan. I was so excited when he was picked. I really hope he comes back to play for the Giants.
Team Ghost: Manningham, Sintim, Beckum, Barden, JPP, Anvil, Ross
Jones was the one guy I WANTED last year
It would just be awesome if he leads the team out for the home opener next year as a Giant.
or at the superdome this year
even tho he wont play

They own his rights.
They put a lot of money into this kid. They get dibs on him when he comes back.
This is great news
A return to the G-Men for Jones would only add to the stockpile of young athletes we have on defense in particular. Hope we get some nice tidbits when we go to play the saints later this year.

What a story it will be if they kid can come back.
"Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."
LET'S GO RANGERS!!!
not to mention he's only 23
or soon to be 23, imagine where he could be at 25 or 26 with some experience under his belt

thank you for this
Die hard Giants fan since wide Right! I was 5...
I'm down wit JPP
Yea you know me
Bank it right now...
either Grant or Sash will not be here next year. I’m putting it on the record that he will be on the 53 next year. He wants it so bad. When he makes it back the dreads of doom will be in affect. I’m just hoping that during ’12 they will be running a 3 safety scheme so we can have Rolle, Kenny, and Chad on the field at the same time. Man if this was the ’70 or ’80 there would be total destruction on the field.
if you're right that says a lot
it means we’d be letting go of a seasoned pro at S, someone who likely would go start somewhere else.
People have been dissing Reese because of our secondary issues, but it’s plain stupid. We’re down TT, Prince, and Chad Jones all via injury. This defense could include Rolle, KP, and Jones at safety, CWeb, TT, Prince at corner, with Sash and Ross coming off the bench situationally — probably Ross in dimes, Sash in run support?
That’s a world-class secondary right there.
Combine it with our top-notch DL with Osi, Tuck, JPP and Tolly at ends, Marvin Austin, Anvil, and Canty at DT (I know, Bernard’s having an OK year, but whatever.
Consider our newly nasty LB corps … Goff, Jones, Jacquiawn (sp?), Kiwanuclear, Boley, and the extras … Reese has built potentially the most badass defense in the NFL…
it’s only injuries at this point. I say the Giants forego the preseason next year!

Grant barely came back this year, so there's no question if there's an odd man out at safety its him
Last night, a comedian died in New York. Somebody knows why. Somebody knows
not necessarily
He could simply take Derrick Martin’s spot since we are currently carrying 5 safeties but since we’ll be looking to save money and will be getting guys back from IR who’ll eat up some spots i think it’ll be The Miami boys deep with TMFS and CJ working in to play closer up to the line

I'm pretty sure the Giants cut Jones this preseason
Making him an unrestricted free agent.
"Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue."
nope

He was waived/injured
And placed again on the non-football injury list. As per Mike Garofalo/Rotoworld.
Not sure how this works. The fact that we did it this year again seems to mean that we retain his rights. Possibly it is similar to ERFA/RFA?
"Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue."
As far as I know....
he could have been picked-up by another team while on wavers but once he cleared the Giants keep his rights and unless I’m mistaken they don’t have to pay him until he comes off the non-football injury list.So the only way he comes back is to the Giants or if they release him he would be UFA.
"Can't win with Tom Quinn"
Waiver claim comes with the existing contract
That was a safe move.
"Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue."
I would bet we still have 'em
He’s only slightly less healthy than Barden and he’s only on the PUP
Tuck,JPP,Osi,Kiwi,Canty,Anvil,Tolly all will be in rare form and be getting opponents down to their 3rd QB's..
Opposing QB's made miserable,seasons ruined
Romo,Vick, and Brady's beatings will be all they remember
We start fast,we finish like shiz.
Start like shiz,finish like barbarians!
He still has a ways to go in his comeback,
but I want to see this kid play for us. He is a champion and would be a great addition to our team with his skill set and character.
I will have to see if I can find just what had to be done to his leg and what his limitations from the accident will be.
If I am being negative please, don't let it fool you, I am an optimist at heart and I can prove it.
