OLine, Running Back, Tight End, what is the most immediate need?
The Giants O-Line played pretty good football in "10" considering all the injuries, however age is creeping up on the GMen Oline. While they were one of the least sacked teams in the NFL this past season, we need to build on some younger guys. I think the line has to thank Eli for the least sacked stat considering had he not thrown some of those errant passes and instead took a sack . The stat may have changed but we may have come away with one or two more wins. It all starts with Eli and the mistakes. He must take care of the ball and has room for vast improvement. I think we draft Oline as a priority. Do we stay satisfied with the Backfield? I like Bradshaw and his desire, never quit attitude. He though needs to vastly improve in taking care of the ball. Jacobs, while his play did improve significantly in "10" has to stay on the top of his game and needs to also take care of the ball better. I keep both. I also look for that 3rd back in the draft, someone to step up and work his way to starter. I give up on DJ Ware. Granted he didn't get the plays and when he did was not bad, he's average at best. While I've always been a fan of Kevin Boss, can he excel in the Giants system. Even when our wideouts went down and you would think we needed to go to KB more we didn't. And his strengths are as a reciever not a blocker. I would like to see him stay but what can we get for him in draft picks? Fullback? I have admiration for the job Pascoe did backing up Hedgecock, but we need a good blocking, pass catching and occasionally running fullback. We need a Weaver, McClain, Heath Evans, guys that can block, run and catch.Wide recievers we have. We have to keep them on the field. We have to keep Smith, Nicks and Manningham. Just a thought but imagine Plaxico back in Giant Blue, drawing the double team with our three other guys on the field. So my thoughts are:
Plaxico type Reciever
