Giants' Chris Snee, Osi Umenyiora, Justin Tuck Voted All-Pro
New York Giants offensive guard Chris Snee and defensive ends Osi Umenyiora and Justin Tuck have been voted as second-team selections to The Associated Press 2010 NFL All-Pro Team.
This is the second time Snee has been voted to the team. He was a first-team All-Pro in 2008.
Snee, who just completed his seventh season with the Giants, has long been considered the team's best offensive lineman. He received 14 votes from the 50-member panel, most of any NFC guard.
Tuck garnered 16 votes and Umenyiora received nine. This is also the second selections for the Giants two star defensive ends.
Right tackle Kareem McKenzie did not make the team, but did receive four votes. Guard/center Rich Seubert and safety Antrel Rolle each received one vote. No other Giant received any support.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was a unanimous selection by the 50 50 media members who regularly cover the NFL.

Rolle also got a share
of 2nd team All-Pro safety with seemingly every other safety
Safeties_Nick Collins, Green Bay; and Antrel Rolle, New York Giants, Eric Weddle, San Diego, Malcolm Jenkins, New Orleans, Quintin Mikell, Philadelphia, Chris Harris, Chicago, Michael Huff, Oakland, Michael Griffin, Tennessee, and Darren Sharper, New Orleans (tie)

Rolle
Got one vote … I know the nfl.com list shows him as second team, but so many guys got more votes I don’t see how he can be called second-team.

Tuck being on the 2nd team is reason to castrate the voters
Peppers and Abraham were solid as well, but no way are they more deserving. What a joke.
Congrats to Snee and Osi, they deserved where they are. Feel bad for Tuck, he deserved better.
Last night, a comedian died in New York. Somebody knows why. Somebody knows
also Mankins making it after only playing 9 games....
perhaps castration is too light on these poor saps?
C’mon now, the All-Pro team is really the one “pure” voting all-star team the NFL actually has.

Thought you might be interested in this
PFWA has Tuck and Snee as first team all pros
Not the AP, and they also had Vick as the MVP this year (yuck), but good to know someone out there appreciates Tuck for his awesomeness.

well the writers must have a clue then.
As for Vick, can’t really argue. The Eagles by and large stink on defense and if they didn’t have Vick making plays with his feet, they’re not nearly a playoff team. So he’s gotta be in the convo, yea.

Good
I’m glad Osi got some recognition. I was scratching my head a bit when he fired off 7-8 forced fumbles in the first half of the season and hardly got notice in the media. He slowed down a bit stat-wise but the guy really had a great season, especially considering that a strip-sack is so much more devastating than a garden-variety sack, and he put on a clinic.
Tuck should have been on the first team. He registered more stops for losses than both Peppers and Abraham, he forced (with 6) twice as many fumbles as Peppers, three times as many as Abraham. He was in on quite a few more tackles as well. One positive to take away from this season is that Tuck only seems to be getting better.
I think Bradshaw would have seen some consideration if he didn’t cough it up so much. If not for that, well, he’s one of the league’s most exciting players to watch, and there’s no doubting that. I can’t remember any single Giants player that would consistently draw praise from Aikman as much as Bradshaw has, and well, let’s face it, our run-blocking was far from spectacular this season.
It seems a handful of Giants missed by a step. Nicks had 79 catches with 11 touchdowns for over 1000 yards in just 13 games. Eli looked like an MVP candidate in the first half.
...
Osi broke the FF record and no one said anything about it.
Rex Ryan... I salute you!
SERIOUSLY!!!?
Tuck is on the second team? He should be on the first team. WOW!!! Tuck had just as big as an impact for our team as Julius Peppers did.
Tuck had 80 tackles to Abraham’s 40. 11.5 sacks to Abraham’s 13. 6 Forced Fumbles to Abraham’s 2. I wonder how much Tackles Tuck has for a Loss of gain… I bet he’s among the league leaders.
Rex Ryan... I salute you!
I guess this is just a popularity contest...
something like the probowl.
Rex Ryan... I salute you!
Players on winning teams
always get a boost.
If we were the playoffs, Tuck would definitely be there, or if Atlanta didn’t get the first seed, abraham probably wouldn’t be there.
