Who do you want to see the Giants draft in the first round?
My guy is Akeem Ayers, the best 4-3 OLB in the draft. Von Miller will go before him and Akeem is projected to go right around when the Giants pick. I think Jerry Reese should be targetting this guy, maybe even trading up a few spots if he has to. UCLA is a stand up program, and from what I see, Mr. Ayers has no off field issues at all. He is also apparently extremely athletic and a very good cover linebacker, which is exactly what the Giants need. We struggled in coverage all year long and most of it was due to the poor play of our outside linebackers. This guy is also known for being able to make acrobatic interceptions, and making things happen after he gets the ball in his hands, another thing that would truly benefit our defense. I think he could step in and perform right away. Michael Boley, Jonathan Goff, and Akeem Ayers sounds like a pretty nice trio if you ask me. Last year I wanted the Giants to take Sean Lee and they did not. However I am happy about Jason Pierre-Paul and I think adding this young, flashy, playmaking OLB would be the best move for our defense. Resign Barry Cofield and our 3rd and long defense looks pretty solid, Justin Tuck, Osi Umenyiora, JPP, Cofield, Ayers, Boley, Aaron Ross in on the nickel, and Antrel Rolle, Kenny Phillips, Corey Webster, and Terrell Thomas to close out that secondary which will only be better after another year under Perry Fewel's tutoring. A speedy, athletic cover OLB is just what the doctor ordered for our defense if you ask me.
Who is going to be your guy come April?
