More talk from the Giants, I thought we were passed this after 2007...
Antrel Rolle and Kenny Phillips simply have to stop all this "Coughlin is too uptight, Rex Ryan rules" nonsense. Rolle especially has to shut up. Tom Coughlin is NOT the reason we blew a 21 pt. lead in 8 mins, he was not letting Jordy Nelson run by him on the Packers second possession. If anything, Coughlin is one of the LEAST of our concerns. Yeah, that's right, I sad TC is one of the LEAST of our concerns. We have won many games under TC, including a Super Bowl. It's our players that have killed us at times.
What I mean by that is that it's the players fault that we blew both Philly games, the Green Bay game, the second Dallas game. The players blew coverages, containments, etc. Antrel Rolle and Kenny Phillips are two cuprits. While Rolle did have a good season overall, he was caught in between on pass coverage, and gave up too many big plays. Now, I think he will improve next year, but this year he struggled in coverage. He is responsible for blown coverage on Nelson against GB, late in the second Philly game, and the second Dallas game. KP was recovering from injury, and played a mile away from the line, but he did whiff terribly on Celek. With that being said, these two guys contributed to some of our worst losses this season, they have NO RIGHT to call out TC for something that isn't his fault.
I don't get what Rolle means when he says "I'm not having enough fun." Antrel, you chose the Giants in free agency last year. You proclaimed that you and KP were going to be the best safety tandem in the league. And it sure looked like you were having fun when we were winning. Maybe Rex Ryan looks appealing because the Jets TAKE CARE OF THEIR BUSINESS. As much as I hate the Jets, they show up for the games they need to win. Even if they lose, like the Chicago game, they are at leas competitive. The Giants, on the other hand, have these complete meltdowns and lapses. We figured we would beat Dallas easily in the second game, since they were 1-7. All we had to do was show up and we'd get the W. The Indianapolis game, I don't know what happened there. The Green Bay game is self explanatory. If you players can't get ready and revved up for a game, especially a big one in which you can clinch a playoff berth, I don't know why you are a pro athlete. Rex Ryan is not a better coach than TC, he is a classless guy. But, the Jets players play hard and try, and the Giants need to do the same.
So, Antrel and KP, how about we play well next year and let our play do the talking. What happened to the 2007 mantra "Talk is cheap, play the game?" That attitude won us a Super Bowl, under the coaching of none other than Tom Coughlin himself. If we had played well and 100% to our abilities this year, we would be in the same position as the Jets are in, and no one would be bad mouthing anyone.
