Giants Season Opener
Since 1989 the Giants are 13-8 in their season opener and winners of their last 2. Under TC they're an even 3-3.
At home in their season open the Gmen are 10-5 winners of two straight both vs the Skins and 4 of last 5. The lone loss was vs Colts in the Manning/Manning bowl. In those 15 home games the Giants are a unbeaten 8-0 as a favorite. Under TC they're 3-1 opening the season at home. Again, the lone loss was vs the Colts.
As a home favorite they were favored by as many as 6 points on two occasions. They obviously won both game but failed to cover the spread in both outings.
Carolina a 6-9 in their season openers and 3-3 in road season openers. They've won their last 3 road season openers. In 2007 27-13 vs Rams and in 2008 26-24 vs Chargers as 9 point dogs. Prior to that their last road season opener was in 2001 vs Vikings, a 24-13 victory. Last season the Panthers were crushed at home in their season opener 38-10.
In head to head matchups the Giants are 2-3 in the regular season vs Panthers. This season is the 3rd consecutive season we met them and 4th in the last 5 season. Prior to last years debacle we won the previous two matchups vs Panthers. 34-28 in 2008 and 27-13 in 2006.

Panthers are always one of the teams that I worry about when I see them on our schedule.
Based on the performance records you provided above FrankB03. the possibility that the Giants will beat the Panthers in their season opener is more probable than not.

Not just season opener...
but “new stadium opener”!
that in itself should pump these guys up…
