Too Late to go Back Now, But if we Could...........
Three Pre-Season Games gone and the Giants have to be thinking about the 'one that got away"
If you could go back to draft day, and based on performances too date in the pre-season,, what rookie draft picks do you think we should be regretting not taking. Someone who was available when the GMen picked. For me, I think my pick would be Sean Weatherspoon, who is no doubt going to be a starter at Atlanta. We sure could have used him. Who would you take if you could go back?

If left up to me...
you would start at all 3 LB spots….but not before you’re “pre-inducted” into the HOF

I refuse to pause people...
how that took on an “orientation” is beyond me…well i know how….but it was never meant to be used in that way…so again, I don’t pause people

but to borrow Free's argument
where would we start Witherspoon? doesn’t he play outside? or are you among the party that has given up on Sintim. if that’s your feeling, then i understand wanting Witherspoon.
but our problem was middle linebacker. the only guy the team really wanted manning that middle for them was gone b4 it got to them. so i can’t say we should have regrets, we took the best on the board at the time.
then again, it takes 3 years to analyze this stuff, so post this 3 years from today mmmullz!
IMPEACH DOLAN!!!!
Weatherspoon could play in the middle
and he would be 20x better than Goff

STRASBURG!!!
He would have gotten injured sooner if we had him. That’s been our luck.

Kyle Wilson
We need a CB bc aaron ross is soft. And adding another DE didnt realy make sense. Plus backflip wasnt the best DE. So ill say Kyle

Sarcasm symbol is quotation marks
If you use quotations around the word you want to show sarcasm it’’ll work.
Ex— Jamarcus Russell is a “Superstar” or in your case I hate not having any “dependable” WR’s
Because if I’m not mistaken Sarcasm is Irony and we use quotations to symbolize irony.

to be honest
that superbowl win gave me at least another 3 or 4 more years of not caring what the team does as long as they provide entertaining football. We could bomb this past draft and have no players stick with the roster and it wouldn’t bother me much.
I'm with you!!!
We win the superbowl…topping what was billed as the best team in football ever (I’m sure we all disagree with that)and I thought – “Wow, we could be mediocre for the next decade and as long as they’re entertaining and competitive then I would be content.”
"Osi said he's going to London to see the Eiffel Tower."
We should have taken Spoon
plain and simple.
maybe not plain and simple
but I’d be more than OK with it

Iupati
I liked him alot and still do. Snee and him would have been a dominating guard combo. I love Will Beatty but I would have been fine with him waiting one more year to take over one of the tackle spots.
"Stop the run to earn the right to rush the passer"- great philosophy from new SU DLine coach Jimmy Brumbaugh.

I would have taken that as my second choice
Once (maybe if) Beatty was ready to man LT, Diehl could have slid to RT since big McK is nearly done.
I think that may be in the cards
With Andrews at LG
In all honesty....my choices probably woulda been
(from the players that were available)….
Bulaga or Morgan.
they woulda both fit in great here in NY primarily b/c they were both banged up this training camp.
Morgan is now healthy and they said he looked good in his first pre season action.
Bulaga is actually not even going to crack the starting lineup this year….but will be the first Olineman off the bench and will split time at G and T. Chances are he’ll be starting before year end. He was dealing with a hip flexor and was nicked up a lot.
"If I'm curt, then I apologize" - Newman
Just doing some research on Bulaga
and the word coming outta Cheese town is that if this guy Colledge even so much as farts sideways Bulaga taking his spot….
A versatile T/G witha mean streak that makes Rich Seubert look like a choir boy.
I woulda loved that guy in Blue…

First time poster
I love the blog, I read it every day. I think the Giants should have drafted Pouncey. It would have been nice to plug him in at LG until O’hara retires then move him to center.
by MarionCobretti on Aug 31, 2010 2:40 PM EDT via mobile reply actions
welcome.....
so now I gotta give you the “new guy” treatment.
being that you are new….did you really want Pouncey at draft time, or are you just saying you wanted Pouncey because of what our Oline looks like currently?
BTW, I’m not arguing the pick….he would probably be a godsend right now.
But I had to be honest with myself and with the board when I said Morgan or Bulaga b/c those were the guys I was actually looking at! As my luck would have it they both spent training camp injured….and considering Earl Thomas was already gone I couldn’t have considered him.
"If I'm curt, then I apologize" - Newman
I understand
I actually did want Pouncey on draft day. I personally believe center is the second most important spot on the offensive line and I saw how the line truly became great once O’hara came in. I also thought he would be a great stop gap at LG with the age/injury concerns with seubert also allowing him to go back to his super sub spot.
by MarionCobretti on Aug 31, 2010 3:38 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions
Good reasoning
and a pick I could have easily gotten on board with.
Yeah, no doubt
Pouncey looks great.
I wouldn’t have minded if they picked him over Mr. Gymnast.

i was a proponent of Earl Thomas
but I’ll take JPP. It’s our team’s philosophy to get guys like this to get to the QB.
And it can't be said enough
That Osi has a history of injuries, and Kiwi is a FA next year so…planning ahead is never a bad thing.

yup.
I said all along I got no problem drafting a DE. Wasn’t the one I wanted, but as with any fan there’s not a single shot I did even 1% of the scouting the team did.
The people who actually saw these warlocks determined JPP was better. So..boom.
Maybe if any of us actually seen the players in person, JPP would be the choice? Maybe someone like Weatherspoon would not be cuz he’s a nipplehead?

they knew what they were doing
but if we’re still getting crushed by alert routes and in the seams midway through the season, a lot of people will be pissed. Fewell will figure it out I’m sure
