Lawrence Taylor Indicted By Grand Jury
From ESPN.
Pro football Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor was indicted Wednesday by a suburban New York grand jury on charges of third-degree rape and patronizing a prostitute.
The indictment follows his May 6 arrest at a Holiday Inn in Ramapo, N.Y., where prosecutors say he paid a 16-year-old girl $300 to have sex with him.
Taylor had been charged previously in Ramapo Town Court, but the indictment transfers the case to Rockland County. He is scheduled to appear July 13.
The former New York Giants linebacker also was indicted on charges of endangering the welfare of a child, and sexual abuse and criminal sexual act in the third degree. He faces up to four years in prison if convicted. He has denied the charges.
I hate this. Talking about this stuff is just sad. Have to do it, of course, but not nearly as much fun as what we talked about Tuesday.

All you hear about is the past, the past... the past is the !@#$ing past, this is the present.
THIS IS TEMPORARY! A CHAMPIONSHIP IS PERMANENT
-Same as above
not surprising at all.....
IMO it was to be expected….

Apparently it was a forgone conclusion
since his lawyers purposely didn’t present any evidence to the grand jury.
We don't play for the wild card around here kid
nor does he plan on having LT testify....
i’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing….
I mean either you defend yourself…..or accuse a 16 year old girl of lying about being raped.
either way it’s not a good look for LT….

a grand jury indictment
Doesn’t mean he’ll be found guilty. Its one step closer, but its not the end quite yet

Call me jaded, but to me it sounds like a prosecuter trying to bag a trophy
LT hired a hooker…. You want to charge him with solicitation of a hooker fine. I know people want to pretend like that kind of thing does not go on, but it’s not like he was like bring me a 16 year old girl please.
The pimp is the one who forced this young lady to work, and from what I understand LT was not her only customer, but yet you hear nothing of them going after any of the other guys that slept with her. In fact you don’t even hear what they are gonna do to the Pimp, only what they are charging LT with. Tired of politicians making stands on the back of a famous person, to further their careers.

No big surprise or News
listen, i love LT as a player on the field but off the field and as a person, he is a stupid jackass, specially to put yourself in this type of situation
Not condoning his behavior at ALL but...
…he’s gonna beat the rap easily. This girl’s already contradicted herself about five times in the press. The lawyers will grind her story into a fine powder. At most he gets solicitation. I just hope he has the sense to shut up and stay home after this.
I left my swagger in my other pants.
LT..this I cannot forgive..You could have waived for help for that little girl..like you did for Theismann..
I thought you changed..You haven’t..Very sad..I loathe you as much off the field of play than I loved you on it..thanks for nothing.

You've said it better than
I could have myself, Bobbi.
The Difference
We’re all about the truth here and I don’t want to see any support for LT.
Lets separate LT the player and the person. LT was a Hall of Fame NY Giant. LT the person is a piece of trash.
We’re all about the truth.......
If so what about innocent until proven guilty. (and I don’t want to see any support for LT) what is this communism now where we shouldn’t have an opinion to agree or disagree. I hope if I should ever get into and kind of legal issue, that people will give the legal system a chance to work before condemning me.
I believe it was Soloman Wachtler who said
A good prosecutor could convince a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich
This story is overblown
I don’t care, nor should any decent person care, whether or not a total stranger uses a prostitute. It’s none of my goddamn business. Shouldn’t even be illegal, to be frank. Can we look down on his moral character a bit for it? Sure you can.
But that’s really the extent of his wrongdoing. It’s not like the guy was seeking out underage girls to get off to. He hired a hooker, was lied to about her age, and then proceeded to…? What? Not have sex with her by several accounts? And even if he did, is a guy unknowingly having sex with an underage person so abhorrent as to dismiss him for life? I understand the need for laws to protect minors from harmful sexual conduct. Hell, any person in their right mind approves of them. But at what point should we as individuals not hold a man accountable for such a mistake, even if the law as a whole still does? If I card every person I sleep with, I’m still on the hook if someone lies, yet what more can a person do? Now I doubt LT asked for ID, but I also doubt he knowingly or willfully sought after an underage partner for sex. At worst, it appears LT showed bad judgment. The label of “rapist” is both loaded and completely unfair. What Roethlisberger (likely) did was rape. What LT (may or may not have done) was just stupid and pretty sleazy.
