Your 2014 Giants
OK, so maybe you heard the 2014 Super Bowl will be in Giants Stadium. (I don't care what they call it; that's what it is.) Obviously, the dream would be to beat the Jets there. And I could even see the Jets getting there. But us? That's a looong way away.
So.
Which current players will still be Giants then?
More after the jump, (something most of the existing OL won't be able to do by then.)
DEFINITELY DONE BY 2014
O'Hara
Seubert
McKenzie
Cofield
Canty
Benard
Jacobs
Hedgecock
Blackburn
Boley
Both those expensive FA safeties we just got.
Sorgi
LIKELY DONE BY 2014

Let's hope we have kickass drafts the next three years. Of course, all our troubles will be overcome by the breakout 2014 performance of...Sinorice Moss. /rimshot.

I realize there is a lot of turnover in the NFL, but I think you are far too pessimistic with these predictions.
Under Definitely Done you have Rolle who is 27 and just inked a 5 year deal. He’d be 31 by the Meadowlands Superbowl; he’ll be past his prime, sure, but definitely done, no.
Likely Done, Tuck at 31? God I hope not.
Could be Done, Eli? No chance. He’ll only be 33 which is like 27 in QB years.
There are plenty of others I disagree with as well. Again, I realize NFL rosters change faster than any other sports teams, but I think your predictions are extreme.
Inciting? Yes.
Worth discussing? No.
Some of these – many of these – assumptions are just plain wrong.

I think we're putting the cart before the horse here....

Take your blinders off, ladies.
“…why would tuck be gone? or phillips? or ross? or bradshaw? or rolle?”
Have you been following the Giants? The New York Giants?
Tuck plays hurt all year, every year. Phillips missed all of last year with an injury described as “chronic.” As in “Is going to get worse, not better.”
Ross thinks he’s a sprinter and trains like one, which will mean his hamstrings are ticking time bombs.
Bradshaw runs with reckless abandon (god love him) and now has bad feet.
OK, I could be wrong about Rolle.
I left my swagger in my other pants.
Tuck plays hurt all year...but he plays.
Phillips is a wild card. He could either be done before the season, or play longer then 3 seasons….
Ross..depends on if he wants to do it.
Bradshaw is a RB, so yea, he could be gone. But the way he’s used, he could still be getting better by then.
I just don’t understand. Its 4 years away. We’re not likely to have the same roster, but its like the Giants are a bunch of 30 something over the hill, “win now” sort of team.
..when actually, they’ll probably be just that with all these guys in 2014!

yeah i think you're underselling some of the younger guys
which alot of our core is. i mean, even Canty and Cofield, both are what, 26? i think one of them are still here in 4 years, and 30 is not the end of a career. i think we do alot of overreacting here because of what happened to AP at that magic number. for running backs, that is a more accurate assumption. not for every position.
and ahmad is only what, 24, 25? if he’s productive, and stays out of trouble, i think he can be a Giant for a long time. even maybe supplant Big Boy for the starting spot.
lol um no?
Were you drunk while posting this?If so im very impressed with the typing of this,it would also explain the insane predictions.Didnt Eli just sign a long deal? You have players who will barely be in the 30’s gone, players who are excellent players. You are wrong about 85 percent of your list lol.
With the way Reese has been contructing this team...
….the idea of the Giants having homefield advantage in the 2014 Superbowl is not that far fetched. Especially if we continue to inject youth into key areas. Between now and then the OLine, LB, and RB areas need to be taken care of. That’s plenty of time.
Think about our WR group, especially, and how good they could possibly be by that time, with a veteran Eli at the helm.
