This is an overview of when the first four players in every position were drafted on average in the last ten years. This was taken from the SB Nation Cowboys Blog, Blogging the Boys, in a fanpost by One.Cool.Customer. Analysis after the jump. The link to the post is here: Blogging The Boys
The Giants hold the number #15, #46, #76, and #115 picks in the first 4 rounds. According to this data, we most definitely have to hold our breath for our favorite linebacker to fall to us. Safety would seem like a possibility, but as we all know, the top ranked safety will be long gone. It IS interesting to note that the position is of low positional value, so don't be surprised if Berry falls further than you think.
With our 46th pick, it would seem like we'd be in position to take the 4th best offensive or defensive tackle and running back, 3rd best safety, or the 2nd best guard. Hell, if Maurkice Pouncey falls to us at 46 I'd jump for joy.
With our 76th pick, we may pick up the 4th best tight end, or 2nd best center to add depth.
Just a few notes, the top fullback chosen wasn't before the 3rd round. Also, in determining the kicker data, the 1st round selection by Oakland in 2000 (Sebastian Janikowski) was withheld because it was an outlier.
